@moonbus saidI think it was a grifter's moment rather than that of a theologian. Given her line of work, if she is able to raise considerable money off such a comment, I don’t think the word "stupid" gets to the heart of why she said what she said.
That MTG compares Trump to Jesus shows that she inhabits the lowest echelon of stupidity.
@fmf saidSatirical? Sounded like you were taking him to task (like literally all your posts). Walking it back now?
Nope. Just a sense-of-humour deficit on your part. Did my satirical comment addressed to mchill go whoosh for you?

She's also humping Trump's leg for the VP spot.

One also wonders how you can push such a farcical argument for over 300 pages.
@fmf saidwhat do all the world's 2,400,000,000 Christians believe? Not just you. All of them.
I wonder if likening Trump to Jesus is a "sin"?
@mchill,
what do all the world's 2,400,000,000 Christians believe? Not just you. All of them.
Sorry your flawed logic was exposed on this topic here a few weeks ago, so I'll be a nice guy and not do it again.
If I may suggest, chasing after the approval of others is a race no one will ever win. Your status and worth as a human being won't be measured by the amount of likes you get on Facebook, Instagram - or green thumbs on RHP. Because of this you might consider doing something more useful than what your doing now.
If you'll excuse me, I have some work to catch up on. π

@mchill saidYou are beyond parody.

@vivify saidThis is exactly why the US founding fathers advocated a separation of church and state.

Jesus would mock Christians today. More importantly, Christians today would mock Jesus.
But this isn't new. Christianity has been light years from the teachings of Jesus for hundreds of years, from mass torture and hate, to slavery to their current love of money, hatred of the poor and unabashed racism.
Theocracies just do not work.
@vivify saidI could say the same thing about any belief system, because people are in them all, outside of a level playing field human corruption soils it all.
But it's a problem when Christianity infects politics and government. If Christianity isn't lead by the morals they claim to espouse then they are a burden to humanity when Christians in government create policies affecting the rest of us.
This includes racist policies that favor the rich and show contempt for the poor; policies that help create the poor people they hate.
@kellyjay saidEven you have to admit, though, that some policies are worse than others, in terms of human suffering. Just ignoring that and saying, "oh, they're all bad" results in a system of smoke and mirrors that we're all too familiar with.
I could say the same thing about any belief system, because people are in them all, outside of a level playing field human corruption soils it all.
Futhermore, injecting religion into government is always, always, always a bad thing.
