3 men go into a motel.
The man behind the desk said the room is R30, so each man paid R10 and went to the room.
A while later the man behind the desk realized the room was only R25,
so he sent the bellboy to the 3 guy's room with R5.
On the way the bellboy couldn't figure out how to split R5 evenly
between 3 men, so he gave each man a R1 and kept the other R2 for himself.
This meant that the 3 men each paid R9 for the room, which is a total
of R27, add the R2 that the bellboy kept = R29.
Where is the other Rand?

There is no other rand...The addition performed at the end is incorrect.
all had paid the total of £27 for the room + bellboy's tip.

A Mathematician, a Biologist and a Physicist are sitting in a street cafe
watching people going in and coming out of the house on the other side
of the street.
First they see two people going into the house. Time passes.
After a while they notice three persons coming out of the house.
The Physicist: "The measurement wasn't accurate.".
The Biologists conclusion: "They have reproduced".
The Mathematician: "If now exactly 1 person enters the house then it will be
empty again."

I think it's a psychological thing - you take some numbers, and they almost add up to some other number, and because it almost fits, you can convince people that it should add up. A while later the man behind the desk realized the room was only R20,

On the way the bellboy thought that he could make some money out of this, so he gave each man a R1 and kept the other R7 for himself.
This meant that the 3 men each paid R9 for the room, which is a total

Where did those 4 extra Rands come from?"
