Agreed. And believe it or not, for others it is to celebrate the holiday of Yule as it was before Christianity.

Oh please. I've only got a couple of thousand years of documented history to prove otherwise. Including works of Christian scholors like the Venerable Bede, Snorri Sturlisson, and Saxo Grammaticus. Or how about 18th century scholars like Jacob Grimm and Vicktor Rydberg. This is just to name a few.
Then I make the statement to remember the reason for the season.
It does not make me wrong or arrogant to say this!!! The word Christmas originated as a contraction of "Christ's mass".
It does not matter that it was celebrated in winter soltice, or changed from the celebration of a Roman sungod or what traditions or happenings wwere on this day. It does not even matter if this is the exact day Jesus was born. It matters that it is celebrated and the day was picked out.
OH Merry Christmas if you believe and whatever you want to celebrate if you choose not too.
