1) Re you OP very fair point. Most denominations that I am aware of don't encourage their faithful to challenge their beliefs. Personally I think that the truth should be able to stand on its own two feet and would always encourage any devotee of anything to challenge what is taught to prove/disprove it, not follow blindly

2) Hell is an inconsistent theory propagated by Catholicism initially, which originally draws its doctrines from Babylonian mythos (please see "The Two Babylon's" by Rev Hislop). Ecclesiastes makes it clear that the dead are not aware of anything, so the idea of eternal damnation burning in hell etc is not consistent with that position. Either you continue to be conscious after death or you don't.

3) Finally - if we are dealing with a "loving God" (which I do believe in) how would roasting humans that have fallen short for eternity be compatible with the idea of love. It amounts to torture.

There is a final judgment you know, which means it has not happened as of yet.

And if there is a final judgment, then that would imply punishment, would it not? Or perhaps the correct translation for the final judgment should be final counseling session.

The whole point of mistranslating the text was to create the idea of a place of damnation, adding power into the hands of the clergy. If you could sell people on the idea that you had the ability to damn somebody that would be quite a weapon. Deprive them of the scriptures (as was the case) so that what you were saying couldn't be refuted and you quite a hand. Thus religion was (and still is in to a point) being used as a control mechanism.

My reference is the great Judgement mentioned in Revelation after everyone is called "home". Why have judgment if there is no following punishment?

It is obvious reading scripture that God punishes. After all, loving parents do as well. In fact, unloving parents don't with disastrous results. The problem you have is, therefore, not the concept of a loving God punishing, the problem you have is everlasting punishment.

It's been calculated that the US has also overthrown 46 nations since WW2 including a democratic Iran (operation Ajax), and assassinated two leaders of democratic governments (South Korea and Syria).

After WW2 the foreign policy policies of the USA (in order of priority) were

2) Destruction of French Empire
3) DO something about Russian Communism
4) Prevent the unification of the Arab states (oil)

I watch the hearings - not all but as much as I can.

Biden appears to be guilty of the very thing that they are trying to pin on Trump.

Further more it now appears that democrats on the impeachment committee had a conflict of interests as they were on a separate enterprise being funded by Hunter Bidens company.
