So you are completely ignoring the statement by Christ in the opening post .. even though YOU ASKED for it. That tells a lot about your knowledge of the Bible.

Hey All,
I got the following in e-mail. . .
------------------------------------------------
THIS STORY IS TOTALLY AWSOME
A snowstorm in the South is about as rare as a glass of unsweetened tea at a church supper. Folks around Birmingham, Ala. weren’t all that worried though. The storm was only supposed to dust the city – not even enough powder for a Southern snowman.
So when the first snowflakes began to fall, no one paid all that much attention. But then, the flakes kept falling. Before too long folks in places like Hoover and Inverness realized it was much more than a dusting. By that point, it was too late for anyone to do anything.
Icy interstates and highways soon became clogged with cars and trucks. Thousands of motorists soon found themselves stranded with nowhere to go – including many stuck on Highway 280.
But a good number of those stranded motorists were able to find shelter in the storm thanks to the kindness and generosity of Chick-fil-A restaurant employees and the restaurant's owner, Mark Meadows.
Once the snow started accumulating, Meadows closed the restaurant and sent his staff home. But a few hours later, many of them returned – unable to get to their homes.
“Our store is about a mile and a half from the interstate and it took me two hours to get there,” manager Audrey Pitt told me. “It was a parking lot as far as I could see.”
So Audrey left her car on the side of the interstate and joined a flock of bundled up drivers trudging through the snow.
“At one point there were more people walking than driving,” she said.
Some of the drivers had been stuck in their cars for nearly seven hours without any food or water. So the staff of the Chick-fil-A decided to lend a helping hand.
“We cooked several hundred sandwiches and stood out on both sides of 280 and handed out the sandwiches to anyone we could get to – as long as we had food to give out.”
The staffers braved the falling snow and ice, slipping and sliding, as they offered hot juicy chicken breasts tucked between two buttered buns. And Chick-fil-A refused to take a single penny for their sandwiches.
The meal was a gift – no strings attached.
For the frozen drivers, it was manna from heaven.
“They were very excited and extremely thankful,” she said. “People were thankful to get something to put in their stomachs.”
Audrey said they were especially surprised that the sandwiches were free. Why not make some extra money during the storm? It’s not like anyone could go to another restaurant. Chick-fil-A had a captive crowd of hungry customers. So why did they give away their food?
“This company is based on taking care of people and loving people before you’re worried about money or profit,” Audrey told me. “We were just trying to follow the model that we’ve all worked under for so long and the model that we’ve come to love. There was really nothing else we could have done but try to help people any way we could.”
Lauren Dango was one of those stranded motorists. She’s known Meadows for years and she was stunned when she saw him walking from car to car with Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
“I looked up and I’m like, what is he doing,” Dango told me. “He had a catering order and it got canceled, so he pulled over and started giving away food.”
And if that wasn’t enough, Meadows helped a driver maneuver along the icy road by pushing a car up an incline.
Dango was so touched by Meadows’ kindness, she sent a letter to Chick-fil-A’s corporate headquarters.
“Kudos to Mark Meadows for not only preaching the "second mile" concept, but actually living by it,” she wrote.
It’s no secret that Chick-fil-A was founded by a Christian family. And it’s no secret that they run their business on biblical values. What happened in Birmingham is an example of how those biblical values are played out.
“We just wanted to be able to help,” Audrey said. “Yesterday was such a hopeless situation. We wanted to do something to make people feel a little bit better. We were here. We had food and there were people outside who needed food. So it just made sense to do something for them.”
But Chick-fil-A’s generosity didn’t stop there.
“We opened up our dining room to anyone who wanted to sleep on a bench or a booth,” Audrey told me.
And this morning, the weary staff members fired up their ovens and began preparing chicken biscuits. The only thing that is closed – is Chick-fil-A’s cash register.
“We’re not open for business,” she said. ‘We’re just feeding people who are hungry.”
I’d say the Chick-fil-A team blessed a lot of people in Birmingham – but that’s not how Audrey sees it.
“It’s a blessing to us to be able to help people,” she said. “It really is.”
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,” Jesus said in the Gospel of Matthew. “I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” It was a Sunday school lesson illustrated on a snowy winter day along Highway 280 in Alabama with a chicken sandwich and a side of waffle fries.
RajK and All,
I was able to get to the grocery store even despite the weather. . .
How many of us think that each of us do not sin? How many think that you are blameless to God for sins? I hope that one day before it is too late that everyone realizes that we are individually sinners against God, we cannot save ourselves, we are totally helpless to save ourselves, and trusts in Christ as Savior.
Until then, our good works will not help us in gaining eternal life. After then, our good works will not gain eternal life, but they can help us have rewards. They may help us not be ashamed before Christ, but they will not earn our salvation.
Until our righteousness is the same as Christ's righteousness, we are doomed. We are condemned to hell and/or the Lake of Fire. Christ's righteousness is given to believers in Christ. Please don't depend on self-righteousness to earn eternal life.
I was listening to preaching recently on television, and if I am accurate about all the references, the preacher used
Exodus 20, Numbers 21, Deuteronomy 28, Luke 2, and Matthew 10 to show that Israel wanted to be judged on their own merits, that God gave the 10 commandments, with some other 590 Laws of God, that even though the Christ was thought to bring about freedom for Israel, Christ actually came to send a sword, and set variance against family members. Foes shall be within households.
==================================
I suppose believers in the Law of God will be at variance against those who believe in Christ as Savior. Even Peter, the Apostle, with others, supported the decision in Acts 15. The Jewish leaders persecuted followers of Christ. The Jewish leaders wanted Christ crucified. The Jewish leaders who claimed that the Law of God must be followed wanted Christ crucified.
So what side are you all on? Christ's side, or the side of the Leaders of Israel? Whatever you choose, do not be self-righteous before God. There is a judgement for believers and there is a judgement for unbelievers. I want to be in the judgement for believers. Which one will you be in? The Revelation in the King James Version of the Bible may help you to decide.

People almost always shed their social and economic barriers in time of distress. I was fortunate to have experienced hurricane Ivan in 2004 when it struck the Cayman Islands. That was an almost 200 mph Cat 5 storm that cleaned out the island. There was very little to eat or drink for many days, no utilities for weeks. The people all became like one family. We shared whavever we had and helped and supported each other as much as possible. Businesses did exactly what you described in your story. So your claim that Christianity had anything to do with it is probably not entirely correct. God has put into the heart and mind of all people a conscience with tells him what is right from wrong. God is interested in all people what whether they use this ability for selfish ends or for the good of others. That is how God will judge.

Why is that you don't accept all Christ said?
Even if it seems contradictory to you, accept all that he said and not just one bible passage of his words. It is up to us to try to find out why He says what He says.
We have to make sense of it, but never make just one idea what we want it to be. Put all his words together and try to understand it. Since Jesus never lied, then it is you and me who have to understand it all together. But we should never gain the whole world and lose our own soul.

RajK,
Here is one answer. If you want to love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind. Not that this is the only way to do it.
Love Him enough to believe Him about His Only Begotten Son. then put faith in His Son for your salvation. Otherwise, it seems that you think you have to work your way to heaven, but not accept Christ as Savior to get to heaven.
Are you an Israelite? If not, the Law of God was not given to you to start with. Don't let it be a stumbling block in your way to accept Christ as Savior.
The bible passage does seem to tell that one person to keep the laws and live. But the man wanted to justify himself. However, Jesus also said to believe in Him to not be condemned. So, doing the Law of God is not enough for eternal life.
Jesus did not lie, so we have to try to make sense of Jesus saying both things. Luke 10: 27, 28 and John 3: 14-18 where Christ talked to Nicodemus. If you are not an Israelite, then don't even try to keep the actual Law of God given to Israel and not to any other people. And even for Israel, Christ died and took their sins so that they could have the final sacrifice for their sins and gain eternal life in Christ Himself.

================
Mark 16: 15, 16
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
What is the gospel that Christ sent out his disciples to preach. Do you know?
Its about repentance from sins and about following Christ's commandments. The Jews at that time knew nothing of Christ. John the Baptist baptised by the thousands. They knew nothing of Christ.
To know Christ is to know what is righteousness and love and charity. Those are the things that you condemn and ridicule.
Love is the fulfillment of the law. Love and charity is greater than all of Faith and hope.
1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Do you keep the commandments of Christ?
No?
Do you at least preach that the commandments of Christ gives eternal live?
No?
Then anything else is nonsense, and maybe as John said 'You are a liar'
RajK,
Where is the mention of doing good works in the following passage? Where did Christ tell Nicodemus to be saved by doing good works?
Nicodemus was a man of the pharisees, a ruler of the Jews, and a master of Israel. And yet, he still did not understand how to be born again.
King James Version
=================
John 3: 14-18 - John 1: 1-13 is left out.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Then John, the Baptizer says in the same chapter. . .
John 3: 35, 36
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
