The word 'choose' is out of place.
You are not given a choice.
You get babtised when you are just weeks old.
They then feed you with pretty stories about Jesus and God when you are young
and if you are nice you go to heaven so there must be a hell.
They have thes ...[text shortened]... no choice.
(I want to unbabtise myself, how do I go about it and how much does it cost?)
Good bhuddists monks know this, hence they may participate in christian rituals , such as christmas, so they may show that they are willing to meet persons (of other spiritual persuasions) hafway when it comes to dealing with "surface issues".
However I do not doubt that a heavy christian influence just after birth, and as a young child, can leave very heavy imprints that may take many years to iron out .My sympathies.
