but i don't think if ET came here they would believe in god, anyway if they came here with all their warp technology and stuff, and made us look stupid with hard evidence of how the universe was actually created would we still believe in god?? i think i've gone off track here
matter of faith for the time being too. What if instead of ET
you really have demonic influences? What if the same thing
is true when it comes to ghosts as well? Instead of the spirits of
people you have demonic influences, with the goal of these
spirits to simply be another reason to hide God from those
that do not want to believe in him? As you say, you believe
that if ET comes, more than likely a belief in God will seem
silly compared to what they could bring. As long as people
are kept away from God, the devil wouldn’t care how or what
it takes, if it is a high tech reason with ET, or ghost with the
spiritualist.

Fair enough but, as mentioned in the movie Contact it seems like an awful waste of space (the millions of other galaxies, planets, etc) if there was not some sort of other form of life.
Here's just an idea and something to ponder: What if the Christ was actually a visitor from another world that was called "Heaven"? What if Jesus was actually an alien and the Bible was actually some sort of textbook of how mankind should behave?

No
that basically is what occured here. Jesus was the guy assigned to
this place, I don't recall all the ends and outs, but I believe Satan
was supposed to be Jesus spiritual brother or something like that.
Maybe a Mormon will spell it out for us if I got it right or not.

And that he should prepare us for when they come back in 2030...
Is it the same theme with just different names?

eric von danngen wrote a book called chariots of the gods? back when i was a kid
alot of his evidence has been disproven some of the artifacts he used as evidence were fakes
BUT most of the real compelling evidence was real
makes me think god=ET's
but i would have to check their ip addresses first lol

If the piri reis map is real then it really seems to prove that either there was an advanced civilisation living here on earth or that we had visitors.... exiting!
Originally posted by Joe FistChristianity does deal effectively with any being other than humans. For example there is a strong assumption that other animals do not have a soul and to explain this many christians will go to the extent of claiming that animals cannot think or reason which, for anyone who has had a pet, is clearly not true.
Does the world's most common religions have a viewpoint on life on other planets, etc? I was inspired by the "Aliens" thread and I am seriously curious as to what the stance is?
For this reason evolution is rejected by many christians not because of the account of creation in the Bible but because they realise that there must be a point at which monkeys changed from soulless animals to soulfull human beings.
If we found plants growing on mars then obviously the whole question of a sould would be ignored. But what if we found small animals or even semi-inteligent animals. There is always an assumption that "Aliens" will be intelligent and that a soul can only go along with inteligence.
I personaly have no doubt that there is life elsewhere in the universe. Whether there is inteligent life and whether we will ever be able to find or communicate with other life is something we cant answer until it happens.
