Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, etc. have all been used one way or another as an excuse to kill people.
I have no idea where you came up with Buddhist monks; that just shows a very poor idea of what Buddhism is and its practice. Buddhist extremism is Nirvana, not brandishing a weapon with intent to kill. 😛
