My point is that the bible cannot possible mention all sins, but the principle of what makes it a sin is there.
Then why can you not also recognize that all the commandments of Christ cannot be mentioned either?
But if one gets to know Him, fellowship with Him, abide in Him, linger and live in the realm of His indwelling Spirit on a minut level, one will discover what His commandments are.
You inform everybody that all sins cannot be mentioned.
But you act like you know each commandment of Christ not kept will cause a
believer to perish.
Why the inconsistency?
@sonship saidThis is clearly another of your attempts to dismiss the teachings of Christ and encourage people to disobey the commandments

Q : Then why can you not also recognize that all the commandments of Christ cannot be mentioned either?
A: All the commandments of Christ are mentioned in the bible by Christ and all the Apostles
You said : But if one gets to know Him, fellowship with Him, abide in Him, linger and live in the realm of His indwelling Spirit on a minut level, one will discover what His commandments are.
My response: The bible does not support this practice. This is a delusional doctrine of the church.
You said : But you act like you know each commandment of Christ not kept will cause a believer to perish.
My response: I said no such thing. I have repeatedly referred to the Matt 25 judgment day statement by Jesus Christ himself about the fate of those who do not keep the commandments.
A: All the commandments of Christ are mentioned in the bible by Christ and all the Apostles
The New Testament shows Christ as so all-inclusive and extensive that on the most minut level He must reign as Lord.
" . . . take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5c)
One could no more mention all the commands of the living and resurrected Christ then he could list all the THOUGHTS that one thinks in his lifetime.
@sonship saidAll of this is evidence that you view the teachings of Christ as irrelevant, incomplete and unnecessary for eternal life in the Kingdom of God.

Your interpretation of 2 Cor 10:5 is way off. All Paul says here is that your every thought must be geared towards obedience to Christ
... and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10:5-6 KJV)
There are no thoughts or situations which are not covered by the teachings of Christ.
@Rajk999
No he can't.
He doesn't believe God exists.
He doesn't believe Christ is God's Son.
He doesn't believe Christ died and rose to BE obeyed.
And the FIRST thought that would be taken captive in obedience to Christ is that Christ is alive to BE obeyed.
No, it is not enough that such an atheist agrees that "the golden rule" is a good idea.
@sonship saidNo references to support your opinion? I wonder why? Maybe there are none. If there are then please post some. Not many people around here care about what you think. Lets have some bible support. Church opinions are dime a dozen. Give us some solid proof that your opinion is in the Bible from the teachings of Jesus Christ.,

@vivify saidAs far as "sins" that not mentioned in the Bible, so far we have:
Christians believe in some acts as a "sin" even though the Bible doesn't even mention it.
Perhaps the biggest one:
Abortion. Not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. Christians believe it's a sin because it's the killing of an unborn, which in the minds of Christians, amounts to murder.
Drug use. Christians are okay with drinking since even Jesus did so, but not oka ...[text shortened]... iginated a few generations ago. I don't know if anyone still says this, but I've heard this before.
Abortion
Drug use
Masturbation
Oral sex
Anal sex
Suicide
Gambling
Wasting food
But there's two more that came to mind. First:
Pornography. This is probably considered a sin because inevitably, feelings of lust for the person you're watching will be stirred up. But what if you record sexual videos of your spouse, for only you to watch? That would still be pornography, but will would it still be a sin? Is a couple watching videos of themselves having sex considered wrong by Christians?
Secondly, a much more minor one: listening to worldly music. I have seen that this is a big no-no. Churches may not actively preach that it's a sin, but I've heard countless times that worldly music is a tool of the devil. Often, the fact that Lucifer was in charge of music before falling from heaven is cited as a reason why Christians should stay clear of 'worldly" or non-Christian music music.
There are some exceptions, of course; classical music, for example, maybe some folk songs. But listening to most types of contemporary or popular music has often been frowned upon by the Christian community.
@vivify saidI think most of those things are not really sins and just fall in the zone of nit-picking Christians doctrines

When it comes to Christianity the things you say, think and how you try to explain them make you sound like a child trying to explain life to their younger sister. This isn’t out of anger or anything but how you sound to a mature Christian.
I assure you all the answers you ask are in the Bible and more. The problem is that you read the words but you don’t understand the meaning or what the living word is.
The more of your heart that is given to Christ the more you learn, trust, and build faith in God. Over time this relationship grows that’s when you will have the answers to your questions.
The more of your heart Christ owns the less the devil can control you. This is why you see Christians do bad things when the devil still has a strong foothold or a new relationship is weak or a new Christian of any age maybe they have a low IQ, mental health issues. The same things that effect non Christians effects Christians also as far as sin goes as mentioned above.

I am unconvinced by your credibility lecturing anyone on what is "childish" and what is "mature".
A mature moral agent ought to be taking personal responsibility for the good and bad things they do, rather than blaming one supernatural being ["Satan"] for the bad things and crediting another supernatural being ["God"] for the good things.
You cast yourself as "a mature Christian"? You sound like "a child trying to explain life to their younger sister".
You may be to young to have kids. I wasn't calling you childish (although your post screams it) I was explaining the lack of understanding you have of Christianity while trying to act like you have one.
Sometimes it’s better to just sit and be quiet, look that one up in the Bible.
I was trying to explain some of the questions you had asked. It seems as though all you want to do is put down and argue which is pointless.
I’m mature in the sense that I’m well past a new Christian in MY eyes. I accept full blame and responsibility for my life and I’ve done some bad things I really regret. What I do with my sin is take it to Christ. When I can truly say I repent for what I’ve done and pray for forgiveness and and grace on Judgement day.
I always ask myself is this of God (good to you) or the devil ( just bad to you as non believer). I don’t blame anything or one for my actions. The devil comes to steal kill and destroy and has many tools. (you have to use some insight if possible) This would be bad stuff that just happens out of nowhere to you for no reason.
Gods arms are always open and I truly pray yours will open some day, your always welcome in Gods family.
God bless
@mike69 saidI do have children. I didn't think you were calling me childish. Indeed, you weren't addressing me. I don't think my post "screams" anything. I do not lack understanding of Christianity. I wasn't "trying to act like" anything. Let's just get those things out of the way.
