Spirituality Forum Motivations

In my observation, people who visit this forum with regularity do so from specific motivations: a] to be entertained; b] to enjoy social contact with friends; c] to gain attention; d] to promote some secular crusade or cause; e] to proselytize converts to their own cult, special order or denomination; f] to seek information, fact and absolute truth. So, we're do you sit on this RHP Cyberspace Bus (or are you its driver)?

Absolute Truth in spirituality sounds like an oxymoron. Don't some forms of Christianity give their followers extra brownie points for sttempting to save a soul?

Spirituality Forum? I thought this was the bar!

Put me down for a]. It was f] but facts, information and truth seem to be in short supply in these parts.

There's not much proselytizing of new converts since the JW's sulked off with thier tails between thier legs.

Why do you come here - which of the above?

I suppose I would have to be A and D again. Probably the same as most of the atheists here.

I expect that many of the religious folk would be A and E.

Hey, you're too dumb to be any good at the job of being an effective bully. Don't take it
from me; ask the other mechanics and grease monkeys I work with back at the yard.

Most bullies are dumb and bully others because that is the only way to feel like they have some power and are getting attention.
Not that I think Freaky is dumb nor a bully. I certainly haven't noticed him bully anyone here, and hes certainly sharper than a lot I could mention.

Thou shalt not the name of the Lord thy Woody in vain.
Vengeance is mine. I will repay. As soon as my
welfare check gets here.

The Book of Johnny Chapter 1 verse 1. ( NJLW ) Translation.

( NJLW ) = New Johnny Longwoody Translation. From the old Gaelic.

I don't Know why I visit this forum, but A would be a good choice.
Life is so grim now one needs a lift. Any kindness would be welcome
and this forum provides me with light relief.

I know Bobby will be disappointed by my comment but as I have said
many times before, for me facts are what count.

There are no facts in religion, only stories and superstition.

Sure maybe the Bible lists some factual people and events like
the reign of Kings right up to the Roman Empire, but those are historical
facts. Not religious facts.

Good Evening, DG. JW's need Brotherly and Tough Love, too. Read it in the fine print of a big book I found at a yard sale last summer and, then, read beneath my forest green fleece by flashlight one wintry night. By the way, nice Red Scottish Wool you've been wearing this past week; sure must be feverishly frigid around this time of year in your village.

Sir Johnny Longwoody vs Boston Lad: Your irreverent and incredibly comical skepticism wouldn't have a prayer
in hell up against his serious doubt (if the playing field had been level with that rascal still in his twenties).

The bagpipes are sounding,
calling me to prayer.
The wind ever surrounding,
put on an extra layer.

The highlands are cold,
the lowlands are wet.
Religious promises told,
and we are waiting yet.

Who shall come to save us?
Is there anyone at all?
They just preach to us,
when ere' we make the call.

One man has a turban,
Screaming from on high.
The other wears a mitre
heed the Gospel is his cry.

We do our best to follow,
we do our very best.
But it's all too hard to swallow,
no matter what colour is his vest.
