FMF let me know when you have something better than Christ and the Gospel of Christ, to live by.

Go for it. If you were posting this stuff on a Christian website or on your own blog, you would not hear a single word of dissent or scepticism from me. Not a single word.
I mean your humble "I don't know" is only of so much use to me.

That something is related to socialization or environment doesn't necessarily mean that truth is not conveyed.

It is facts and useful information that you really don't want coming into your ears.
GIve me an example in your TOP two or three pieces of "useful information" that you have or someone else has written that I DIDN'T want to come to my ears.
Indica ...[text shortened]... e your foremost examples of such "useful information."
Do it in your next post please.[/b]

My request was reasonable.
You mean a Bart Ehrman ("Misquoting Jesus" ) or a Richard Carrier could not help you to shut that pesky Christian up with two juicy examples of variants in copies of the New Testament? I mean the kind SO DRASTICALLY changing the meaning of the overall teaching of the BIble ??
Check out some debates with Dr. Bart Ehrman in the skeptical corner. Maybe you can get some examples he sites.
People on both sides of faith do track and study these things, you know. You know that the people who really care about this have studious record keeping about variant readings in the thousands of full or partial copies of the NT.
Would you like me to help you out a little ?
I will try to rise. How many gods are there?
That is another issue.
There is one God.
You will say one,
Yes, I will say one.
So does everyone else, while pointing at not your god!
Well Hinduism would point to millions of gods.
Monotheists would say "one" - Judiasm, Islam, Christianity. You could add Bahai, Jehovah's Witnesses (though they really believe in two God and the Word who was "a god" ),
Not sure how many Mormanism has.
None of you have evidence your particular choice is actually correct. So for the person trying to understand reality there are literally hundreds or even thousands of gods and exactly none of them show up.
I don't share that experience with you apathist.
Anyway, weren't you talking about textural corruption of the Bible? You're kind of jumping to another argument.
Check on some debates about the reliability of the New Testament to help make up your own mind.
Both sides well presented.
Bart Ehrman verses James White
Does the Bible Misquote Jesus?
Richard Carrier verses J P Holding
Is the New Testament Reliable?
Bart Ehrman verses Daniel Wallace
Is the Original New Testament Lost?
