The six days of creation that you are referring to comes from the book of Genesis.

Genesis 1:31 New King James Version (NKJV)

31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Does this mean six days as we understand it today? Six literal 24hour days? I don't know. However, I believe that creation took place over 6 days as it reads in the scriptures, whatever six days means.

Age of the earth? Sorry I don't know that one either. I know you were hoping for something more with which to fire up your canons and ask another slew of questions for which you don't really care about, but I cannot help you.

Whether it is 6 days or 6 million days, it does not change who God is.

But you believe the origin of the reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky, was something to do with Noah, is that right? Were there no water droplets and clouds and rain and refracted light before "the flood"?

Here's a fun site that shows you how to create your own rainbow in a pan of water:

Fill the shallow pan about half way full with water.
Place a mirror in the water at an angle.
Shine a light into the water where the mirror is under water.
Hold the white paper above the mirror; adjust the angle until you see the rainbow appear!

Cute. I wonder if there is any gold in the bottom of the pan.

The second mention of a rainbow is in the most profound and mysterious vision in Scripture, the vision of Ezekiel .

After describing the mysterious four living creatures and their utter coordination Ezekiel describes the Man on the throne above them.

"And above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, like the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was One in appearance like a man, above it.

Then I saw something like the sight of electrum, like the appearance of fire encased all around, from the appearance of His loins and upward, and from the appearance of His loins and downward, I saw something like the appearance of fire. And there was brightness all around Him.

Like the appearance of the RAINBOW that is in the cloud on a day of rain, such was the appearance of the brightness of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah." (Ezekiel 1:26-28)

This is the last part of an elaborate vision of "the glory of Jehovah [God]".

The whole chapter one is about a vision of the eternal purpose of God to move with man His creature in utter harmony and coordination. The wheel within a wheel full of eyes speaks of the moving of the will of God in the earth. And only in that move of God's will is the insight and vision to comprehend the nature of the universe, man, reality not to mention God Himself.

Here the glory of God is seen as the appearance of a Man on the throne of divine administration. This speaks of Jesus Christ - God-man as the Head of the utter coordination of Divinity and humanity to accomplish the eternal plan of God.

The "electrum" is an alloy metal of gold mixed with silver. This has to do with the divine nature of God - gold and the redeeming work of the Son of God - silver, combined in the God-man Jesus, the Man on the throne.

This is a vision about the theme of the whole Bible - God becomes man so that man might become God in life and nature but not in the Godhead. And this for an eternal harmonious coordinated move in accomplishing the administration of God upon the earth.

In this coordination there is no closing of the heavens above us. Rather the heavens are as terrible crystal - so clear as to be terrible and awesome.

To the rainbow though.

To the second mention of the rainbow -

The brightness around the Man on the throne was of splendor and glory. In God-man upon the throne God will remember His covenant made in Noah's time. Far from wipe out all life with destruction the earth, its lives are necessary for His eternal purpose, especially man.

It is more than the fact that God will be merciful not to utterly destroy all mankind and life, His eternal purpose cannot be accomplished apart from humanity. The invisible uncreated divine Life created man in order to be a vessel for His manifestation and their enjoyment for eternity.

The reminder of His covenant is the very glory of splendor around the Man on the throne.

HAVING A
RAINBOW

At this point the four living creatures are not only for the manifestation of the Lord and not only for the move of the Lord but also for the administration, the government, of the Lord. The Lord is among them and above them for His manifestation, move, and government. This is truly wonderful.

As a result of having a clear sky with the throne and of experiencing a man who has the appearance of electrum and a consuming fire, we will have the appearance of a rainbow. Ezekiel 1:28 says, “As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.” A rainbow is the brightness around the man who is sitting on the throne. This brightness signifies the splendor and glory around the Lord on the throne.

In order to understand the significance of the rainbow, we need to remember the rainbow at the time of Noah. A flood had destroyed the whole earth, and only eight people were spared from that judgment. After that, when people saw storm clouds in the sky they might have been afraid of being destroyed. Therefore, God made a covenant in which He promised never again to destroy all living things by a flood, and He set the rainbow in the cloud as a sign of this covenant. “I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth” (Gen. 9:13-16). The rainbow, therefore, was a sign of God's faithfulness and promise not to destroy the fallen human race with a flood.

In His judgment and destruction of the fallen human race at the time of Noah, God spared some by His faithfulness. This also is our situation as believers in Christ. We need to realize that we have been spared by God. We all are fallen and deserve to be destroyed, but God has spared us. Praise the Lord that we have been spared by His faithfulness! Now we have a rainbow as a sign of God's faithfulness. Although God is a holy God and a consuming fire and none can exist in His presence, by His faithfulness we have been spared.

Not sure, but there certainly isn't a covenant.

Whoever is able to receive it, receive it.

The three basic colors of the rainbow stand for the three basic attributes of God which keep sinners away from God - Red, Yellow, and Blue.

When Adam sinned he was excluded and prevented from coming to "the tree of life" which signified God Himself as the source of eternal life. Three things were mentioned -

The cherubim glory
The sword which turned in every direction.
The flame of the sword.

This indicated that God had a threefold demand on man now that man had joined Satan His enemy. Man fell short of God's glory. Man deserved the death by God's sword of righteousness. Man fell short of the holiness of God. God's glory, God's righteousness, and God's glory could not be passed by the now fallen man.

" And Jehovah God said, Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat and live forever -

Therefore Jehovah God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to work the ground from which he was taken.

So He drove the man out, and at the east o the garden of Eden He placed the cherubim and a flaming sword which turned in every direction to guard the way to the tree of life." (Genesis 3:22-24)

Man has joined Satan and is polluted with the sin nature.
Man is excluded from eternal life because of falling short of the glory of God - the cherubim of glory (Heb. 9:5).
Man is excluded from eternal life because of offending the holiness of God - the flame of the sword.
Man is excluded from eternal life because of transgressing the righteousness of God - the sword.

Next we have to see how these three attributes of God are also the three basic colors of the rainbow - Red, Yellow, Blue.

The three basic colors of the rainbow also speak of the three attributes of God that keep man away from Him. But because they are now in the rainbow the meaning is that God is faithful to Himself meet the need of His demand that man may be saved.

The yellow is the color of the electrum being an alloy of gold and silver.
This part of the vision indicates the glory of God.

The blue is the color of the sapphire throne signifies the awesome righteousness of God.

The red is the color of the fire in the vision signifying the holiness of God.

In God's covenant Jesus Christ on behalf of God and man meets the demand of God's glory, God's holiness, and God's righteousness. Redeemed man may come forward to God to receive Him as divine and eternal life because the Son of God meets for us the demand of God's basic attributes of His glory, His holiness, and His righteousness.

It is from these basic colors are derived the other colors of the rainbow.

[my bolding]

Now we need to see the spiritual significance of these three colors. Blue signifies the throne. According to Psalm 89:14 the foundation of God's throne is righteousness. This indicates that the blue throne signifies the righteousness of God. Fire signifies the sanctifying, separating, and consuming fire. This means that red here refers to God's holiness. Yellow signifies God's glory in the glowing electrum. Therefore, here we have God's righteousness, holiness, and glory signified by the colors blue, red, and yellow.

God's righteousness, holiness, and glory are three divine attributes that keep sinners away from God. Before we were saved, we were kept away from God by His righteousness, holiness, and glory. But the Lord Jesus came, died on the cross to satisfy the requirements of God's righteousness, holiness, and glory, and was resurrected, and He is now our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Cor. 1:30). He is also now our glory. In ourselves we are short of God's glory (Rom. 3:23), we are under God's righteous judgment, and we are kept away by God's holiness. But now, as believers, we are in Christ, and He has become our righteousness, holiness, and glory. Moreover, because we are in Christ, we even bear Christ as righteousness, holiness, and glory. Because we are in Christ, in the sight of God we look like righteousness, holiness, and glory.

This should not be simply a doctrine or a teaching to us. We need to experience Christ in such a way that when others contact us, they can sense righteousness, holiness, and glory. This means that they should be able to sense that we have a clear sky, that we have a throne, and that we are righteous and proper, not careless or loose in any way. We should also have the electrum, glowing, shining, and weighty. Then we will have the appearance of a rainbow, and the angels, the demons, and Satan will be able to see it. This rainbow is the sign of God's faithfulness in sparing us, the fallen ones. As those who were fallen but who have now been saved, we have become a testimony of God's faithfulness in saving us. Every local church should bear the testimony of such a rainbow.
