Don't be silly I've made my position on the OP abundantly clear. You are just being intellectually dishonest now.

Do you feel rather ostentatiously casting doubt on his Christian beliefs - and therefore insinuating that he might be a liar - simply a form of the very same 'judging others' thing you were being sanctimonious about earlier on this thread?

Good, so that's the end of that vein of evasion then.

Now, back to what the Bible does or doesn't say about god creating evil...

Becker/FMJ

can you explain how your apparent "understanding" of "god created calamities and disasters" somehow, as it is washed through your various filters, comes out as god NOT being direcltly responsible for the evil of creating those calamities and disasters?

Thanks

To be frank, I suppose one of the things I have been trying to identify is what principle has guided you in this conversation and the only thing that approximates a guiding principle for you appears to be that your need to defend your pride trumps all need to appear principled in any other respect.

So do you think that everyone who calls themselves a Christian should be acknowledged as one regardless of how they behave?

God does not make our choices for us, we make them ourselves so therefore we are directly responsible for our own actions and hence the evil that occurs as a result. Or do you think God is directly responsible for the evil things that we do because he gave us free will?

Well, I take you at your word that you are a Christian regardless of how you behave, just as I do with the likes of Eladar, Suzianne and divegeester.

Fair enough since you yourself are not one and have no expectations or beliefs about what it entails to be one.

Do you believe that your god figure created "Satan" and do you believe that your god figure knew what "Satan' would then go on to be and do?

I was a Christian for the better part of 30 years. For you to suggest I "have no idea what it entails to be one" is a swing and a miss on your part.

Sure, same as he did with each of us, that still doesn't mean we don't have a choice.

These are the kinds of unsophisticated posts that make you sound like an adolescent and not a grown man who has spent adult years mixing with believers, non-believers and ex-believers and developing an understanding of the diversity and different narrative arcs there can be in the spiritual lives of people around you.

For the 30 years you were a Christian did you have any beliefs about what it entails to be a Christian and how a Christian should behave ?
