Why Do You Believe What You Believe?

I believe it's arrogant to think that any one religion is right. Even within something as derivative as Christianity, you have so many different denominations thinking their slightly different version of the Witch's Brew of religion is the true one. They can't all be correct, but they can all be incorrect. I personally don't think some kind of perfect god character would be as humanly flawed as the one people like Eladar choose to bow before.
Then we are screwed.

No more screwed than we've been for thousands of years.

"Screwed" in what sense?

I think it is arrogant to say that my beliefs are wrong.

So what are you?

Hypocrite or arrogant?

I don't think only your beliefs are wrong, I think all organized religion is equally wrong. You aren't special, no one is.

"Why Do You Believe What You Believe?"

Because it's The Truth.

How do I know it's The Truth? Because of the resurrection.

Without it there is no hope. Only despair and continuous squabbling over what Truth is.

Neither are your beliefs about the nature of reality.

Once again. ..

Hypocrite or arrogant?

If you believe you can somehow make yourself immortal by thinking certain things about yourself and thinking certain things about supernatural beings, then good for you. What does it matter to you if people are not convinced by what by what you claim?

You either need to go back and read what I said again or you are too defensive to understand or too brainwashed to understand.

I will assume you are not too stupid.

This is merely a rather belaboured deflection. The point I put to you remains dodged.

As I said, you don't understand.

It has to do with the fact that all opinions are equally opinion.

Maybe now you'll get it but maybe not.

I do understand. It is you who is missing the point. What does it matter to you if people are not convinced by what by what you claim?

It doesn't. I am just looking for equal treatment for those who claim they are not religious.

I could care less what people believe. I just point out the hypocrite.

You obviously do. There is scarcely anyone here with quite as big an inferiority complex as the one you have. What's the childish really really mean name you call people with whom you disagree politically? Oh yes, "libtards". Mmmm. Feel inferior much? Or do you think it makes you sound resolute and confident?

And now someone who is not convinced of whatever it is that has made you so superstitious is apparently "arrogant". For someone who wears his inadequacies and insecurities so ostentatiously on his sleeve - as you do here and on the Debates forum too - it's a bit rich for you to claim "I could care less what people believe".Just saying. 😉
