You said this on page 4:
"By some curious paradox, some of the most unapologetic, unreconstructed racists I've met are also of intransigently fundamentalist persuasion."

Science doesnt say that the world is older than 6000 years?
Everything in science is a theory?
Unless I am taking this post too literally, you should go back and slap your science teacher.

If BdN claims that he wasn't even hinting at a correlation between the two, I'm happy to admit my induction was faulty and apologise.
EDIT: Suppose I said:
"By some curious paradox, some of the most vicious, unrepentant rapists I've met are also of intransigently atheist persuasion."
What would I be implying here?
I think all three of us know this game; I'm the only one calling it out. But, as I said, if I'm wrong I'm only happy to apologise.
Originally posted by lucifershammerYou should apologize, since there really are racists that use Christianity as their hook to get converts to their racist persuasion.

Originally posted by lucifershammerYou'd be implying that you know quite a few rapists, which is interesting. Where'd you meet them?

Now, the conjunction of racism and Christianity is, to me, paradoxical. That some intransigent atheist should also be a vicious, unrepentant rapist would strike me as no more than coincidental, since mere atheism doesn't preclude appalling behaviour.
Well done for figuring out the South African connection, by the way. I found it amusing that a troublesome South African should crop up on a day that another South African had opened a thread apparently just to cause trouble.
Is there anything else to be squeezed out of this non-issue?

That's a secularist myth. Galileo's peers knew full well what to expect when looking through "his" telescope.
Next you'll be telling me Columbus faced opposition from people who thought the Earth was flat.
Originally posted by sonhouseYou don't honestly think that the Jesus in that link you provided had any resemblance to the Jesus of Christianity, do you? It was a mere caricature portraying Jesus as a fanatical lunatic. Whenever did Jesus say, "An angel is an angel...it has wings"?
