Worth the visit. If you go make sure you take in Madrid as well as a chosen piece of coast - so much to see.

Didn't you know? The term "anniversary" is derived from the Greek god Anniverse. It was a celebration by pagans as they wore white silk dresses and danced around a camp fire throwing rice into the air as a sacrifice to their god.

Being a JW I'm simply shocked that you had no idea about all this. 😲

I hope your post was a joke. These poor guys put up with alot of crap from us, and deserve a good thread for a change. While I don't agree with virtualy any of their teachings, I can respect the fact that they stick to their guns no matter what.

actually its also alleged that wedding rings are also of pagan origin, however, that's not
the point, we just like to be different! Although we dont celebrate Christmas, the kid is
hawking me for a Samsung s2 smart phone, costs about £500.00, i am trying to fob
him off with a pool table, but hes having none of it, where did a ten year old get such
bargaining powers? Last year it was an Xbox 360, with kinect, which he used for about
a week. I'd sell it if i could.

Most traditions are of pagan origins. After, all, they weren't going to wait around to start all those traditions for Jesus to show up.🙂 Oh, let's not do rings, Jesus isn't here yet.

And we have never figured out how we can justify breathing air yet in light of the the other Greek goddes Airiolas.
It's a constant fight for us to figure out how to live and not make God mad at us....Oh well. 🙂
