Animals get killed to run tests; and thousands of animals might have to die before we are able to come up with a decent result. Then there is the debate on cloning a full living human for the purpose of making body parts to harvest later on. It makes a good after-dinner conversation on what to do with that living clone AFTER the body parts have been harvested. The list of potential problems goes on and on. BUT! I do not subscribe to the idea of resisting such knowledge on the strength of 'going against God'. If it is for the good of humans, why not? Let's be realistic. I'm not too sure that those who are against such techniques will continue to think that way if they themselves, or their loved ones, end up needing just those very techniques to go on living. God gave us brains, didn't he? Who knows, maybe it's God's indirect way of helping us?
Do you support research into techiniques, such as those using stem cells, that would allow "new parts" to be generated in a lab? What do our Christian bretheren think about this? It seems to me absolutely one of the most abhorrent things about Christianity that many would leave this poor girl in (perhaps) both physical and mental pain for the rest of ...[text shortened]... ter had science, in the form of her doctors, not stepped in where God apparently stepped out).

Here's one for fun, but I know they've grown ears as well.

Originally posted by scottishinnzWow, awesome piece of science achievement! I guess VIAGRA will soon be obsolete, huh? But seriously, although some breakthroughs have been achieved in rats, I still think that it would take ages still to actually be applicable on humans. Not to mention other much more complicated organs like the heart, kidneys etc. Granted, it is possible, but maybe not in my lifetime (I'm 41 yrs old). Would be nice, though, if I can benefit from a new functional p***s when and if it eventually fail on me!... hehehe.

the highest proportion would be within teenagers and young adults, but it still happens to older people. i think you would find at least one of the following as the main reasons(or lack of) why in prob. all suicide successes.
1) love
2) abuse
3) money
4) health

well you cant live for yourself with laws and ten commandments on top of that lol
Edit: i mean like you dont have freedom to do W/E you want
I do live for myself though - I don't justify my continued existance through anything other than my own desire to do more science.
