The fear of God is not the beginning of wisdom. The fear of God is the death of wisdom. Skepticism and doubt lead to study and investigation, and investigation is the beginning of wisdom.

Well that would depend on where God leads you and where nothing leads you if one is
better than the other. If there is more to this life than living and dying, what than?

Ecclesiastes 1:

“Meaningless! Meaningless!”
    says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
    Everything is meaningless.”

What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?

Generations come and generations go,
    but the earth remains forever.

Methinks one's labors are simply one's labors according to one's will; what do one gains when one washes one's teapot?

And it seems to me that the Earth (and, BTW, everything else) never remains the same; after a while, after some billion years, our planet will exist no more. I have the feeling that eternity is a delusion;

It's been some time; hope you and yours are good, kellyjay😵

The earth may be around for billions of years, but it won't be around forever!

How do you know? Are you that wise?

Or is that just arrogant self-conceit?

Well still breathing I hear that's a good sign, so doing good. I think the eternal is the real reality. 😉
Hope all is well with you too!

Sounds like wise conjecture to me.

Now, believing humans are somehow special from all other animals, that really is arrogant self-conceit.

"...believing humans are somehow special from all other animals,..

And somehow you know we're not?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but just how much time have you actually spent personally with animal both domestically and in the wild?

I think none at all. I think you're merely parroting an ideological view you've read in a book. The gap between animals and humans is as vast as is the distance between heaven and earth.

Any sound minded man knows that. At least he used to.

I know what science says about the future history of the sun. I'm not ignorant.

Are you ignorant in these matters?
Please say yes!

I know what science says. Why should I deny the possibilities?

That's beside the point. It's arrogant in the extreme to postulate what the future holds. At least on a human level. Understand what I mean?

What do you think Wisdom is, how do you define it?
