Just because the woman is not to teach the husband does not mean she is unbearable and unthinkable.

where does Paul say a widow should be in mourning, not remarry, and devote her life to only God if she is under 20? In fact, he said they ...[text shortened]... e who do change the rules are not changing anything, they are rebelling against the Lord.
I just have to ask: Do you really believe that if a husband says a woman can't speak until spoken to, that she has to abide by that? She can't say "Honey, I paid the phone bill today" or "We're going to your mother's for dinner tonight because she invited us" or "I'm taking a Spanish class at the community college starting next week" unless her husband first gives her permission to speak?

And to help you out, yes, Catholics are Christians. They do not worship the Pope, no matter what nonsense you've read by outsiders. Catholics try to follow the teachings of Jesus just as much and as little (depending on the person and circumstances) as everyone else who calls himself or herself a Christian. That is what makes you a Christian: you believe in and try to follow the teachings of Christ.

Joan of Arc was a Catholic, and Catholics are not Christian. However, I will not go into that on this thread.
😀 thank you for a very pleasant read. the rampant contradictions were very funny to read but yet again worrying as to what you are teaching your daughters.

"Africans were thus anciently understood to be the sons of Ham, particularly his descendant Cush,"

sure. the first christians were not christians. they were all been living in a lie until the 1000's when they split into orthodox and catholic churches. and both been living in a lie until the mighty protestants arrived. who of course, through divine inspiration changed all that was wrong in the chrisitian faith and became the first true christians. but let's not get into it here. i am sure you have some fascinating bible verses to support your claim. or maybe i misunderstood you.

roosevelt and churchill were alcoholics. hitler was a decorated war hero and seldom drank a beer or two. nobody is perfect.

"Mr. McCulloch makes much of Lincoln statements defaming blacks. However, he has made the mistake of believing what Lincoln said and ignoring what Lincoln actually did. Since Lincoln was a consummate liar, telling each audience what it wanted to hear in order to advance his political career, it is easy to find pretty much anything one wants in Lincoln's utterances. For example, Lincoln, often cited for his atheism by close associates—so much the atheist that he wrote a book in his youth parodying Christianity—cynically invoked America's religious values in public as a means of gaining a political following."

abraham lincoln initiated the slaves' liberation. abraham lincoln fought to preserve the US after the southerners said, "no we likes our slaves". that he did do. whether he was a racist or not we cannot say because he cannot defend himself and really, slander a dead guy? no. he was a liar (oops i meant politician) who said to every crowd what they wanted to hear and campaign blunders like these were ignored then because they didn't have live television. that we know for a fact. anything else is what we can deduce from history.

There are some things that never change and some that never should. And if it does change it is mostly for your own convenience(pleasure) and not because it is better.
yes, mostly.

but what is better? to live like someone said 2000 years ago who claims he was under the influence of the holy ghost, who said that women should never teach even though they might have valuable knowledge to pass on or to live our own lives, and be responsible for the choices we make.

i swear god is laughing his non-material arse off seeing us how we live our lives, worrying that a fart in church is a blasphemy capable of incurring his wrath.

and i said use reason to change the world. if we don't do stupid mistakes, love, compassion will never change. sure we might do the wrong choices. but if you don't get out of the house out of fear you might die, you don't get to do much in life. why did god created us in his image? he could have made us in a stone's image, to blindly follow rules until we die.
