You can't deny hockey was copied from soccer. That the sports diverged is evident in the rules diffrernces. However it is the same basic premise. Nets goaltended by goalies. Passing. S ...[text shortened]... ayer gets stitches means nothing. Soccer is not a soft sport. Hockey is simply a rougher sport.
Yes, soccer is a very soft sport if you're trying to compare it to a game like hockey where there is really no comparison. I think you are just being silly, and arguing for the argument sake with no substance.

Actually I could sit and watch a (female) tennis match longer than I could watch soccer.

I ...[text shortened]... that it seems Pronger was the difference maker so perhaps he is getting under the Hawks' skin!
Perhaps you didn't notice the overtime didn't last very long, with the same thing going on as in the 3rd period...I am not sure if we are watching the same game, or at least seeing what is actually going on the same way.

Again it was all hard work not Luck. How many times must I say that before you get it. Why would I be worried if Philly didn't win, I told you before the game they were going to win. I am very seldom wrong, you will get to know that eventually.

Note: None of the games have been crushing wins just incase you missed that, all one goal games. Which means it is a close game, & the team who worked harder and made the less mistakes WON! 😉 It started out with the Hawks trying to get under Prongers skin, he is usually pretty good at turning that around.

I am looking forward to game 4. Are you still calling HAWKS in 5, or was that you? 😉

Seldom is a qualifying word meaning there's always potential to err. Or are you setting yourself out as infallible? The length of the OT means nothing. It still was OT. They failed to beat their nemesis within the confines of regulation. THat says more about the Flyers than about the Hawks. Remember 33 2-0 series and 31 for the 2-0 team. Flyers might win the next game and the odds are they will still probably lose the series. As a hockey devotee you should know better than most that an early OT win means luck 9X out of ten, not hard work. The exception is the Canada-USA game. THat was a richly earned OT win indeed! No luck involved thee as Sid Crosby was nothing but fantastic all game long and out of this world in the OT!

Remeber my orediction was Hawks in five. Stll within realm of possibilities. THat means I conceded from the get go that Flyers would win at least one. This was their luck. Avoided being the butt of jokes as the team allowing the 8th road victory in a row. That's all. Read the news from Philly. They admitted they were nervous as prom dates!

As someone who has played the game, and followed the game since I was roughly 6 years old, I can tell you when it looks like a teams is ready to move a step up, as Philly did in game 3, if it makes you feel better to call it LUCK do so. Hard work usually gives you your bounces and so called luck. I don't really believe in luck bad or good. I think we make our own luck by our actions as did Philly in game 3.

I have also learned that the best STATS does not ALWAYS win Lord Stanley's Cup. The team who works hardest and does what it takes, who has lots of heart & guts will always beat out the teams stats. Look what Montreal did to Washington & Pittsburg, no one gave them a snowballs chance in hell to get past Washington!

As I told you before don't count the chickens before they hatch. If Philly win the next one, and I am not saying for SURE they will, but if the do win it, the hawks could be in trouble.

I don't think any thing Sidney Crosby does involves luck, I am with you there. 😉

All three game so far, the teams are never separated by more than a point. I'm not sure what you're looking at, but I see the Flyers out hustling the Hawks, especially in the third period. Maybe that's just desperation because they've been losing in the third period, but the Flyers seem to be in better physical shape. They are going to wear Chicago down, then take control of this series.
Whoever wins tonight, (game 4) I think will win the series. I still say 7 games. Go Flyers!

Stats are indeed made to be disproven. Philly is up 3-1 and I agree with you that if Flyers win the Hawks are indeed in trouble. They will have to regroup and the pressure's on them indeed! Hats off to the Flyers. They have really outhustled the Hawks! I retract my statement about luck. I also bow my head to you and your hockey knowledge.

Sidney Crosby will likely end up being an all time great. He has the goods and is really a combination of speed, control, power, accuracy, vision and hockey knowledge.

Here's something to talk about. That lowlife scum Pronger can get away with anything: slashing, hooking, and high sticking...but they wont call it on him..of course not

Do I detect a sore loser? I see a lot being let go on both sides, not just Pronger.

Perhaps you have a case of tunnel vision? Are you saying the Refs are crooked?

If you follow hockey you would know they always catch the guy retaliating.

I am glad the refs are letting them battle and not calling every little thing, reminds me of the old time hockey. I LOVE it!!!

What does surprise me though is how the rules are one way during the regular season, then change in the Play offs. I can agree with you on that point. Lots of picks, and interference going on that is penalty during regular season.

I don't think they really want me in their Sissy Soccer threads... 😉

I just went into one...I'll match him tit for tat so to speak. 😏

I can't wait for tomorrows game! The Hawks are probably going to come out hard. I expect it to be their best game of the series so far. I am hoping Philly will be able to match them.

He 'll be the series defense man mvp for sure, is that the Con-Smythe trophie? Regardless of a Flyers win or loss, I still say Flyers in 7 though, I think they lose in Chicago tonight.

Defenseman (US)

The Conn Smythe trophy is for the playoff MVP, not the series. It's also not limited to defencemen.

Gotta love bandwagon jumpers.
