I think I get it now. You're being terse because you were as wrong as could be about the Ravens chances, the Patriots superiority and the comparison to the Texans. It's ok. You can't win 'em all, shortcircuit.
The Ravens played a good game, but the Texans beat them during the season.
I don't think the Patriots played nearly as well against the Ravens as they did against
the Texans either.
And, if you recall, I correctly picked that the Pats would beat the Texans.
Originally posted by shortcircuitWhen you get beat down by a team it gives the appearance that you played worse. The fact is that a healthy Ravens D is superior to the Texans D. With the Niners favored by almost a td it would be a very good value bet to pick the Ravens to cover the spread. I pick them to win and I think it will be a pretty convincing one, during the middle to early second half of the regular season the niners probably win at least 7 times out of 10 but not next Sunday.... The Niners are also on their longest winning streak of the season and are bound to come crashing down because they don't match up as favorably against the Ravens as they did the Pack and the Falcons who don't have defenses worth speaking of and mostly one demensional offenses.

Originally posted by robbie carrobieThey weren't really getting pounded... After the first half was over I thought they had the game under control and figured they weren't out of it at all. The Patriots didn't have any adjustments to make defensively because the ravens didn't show them anything and just pounded the rock so when they came out firing in the second half it pushed the Pats on their heels. Either a prudent adjustment or really brilliant game planning by John Harbaugh and his coordinators.

Originally posted by tomtom232actually I thought that they ravens receivers (that's the guys who are on the flanks, correct me if I am wrong i barely know what a first down is) were being excellently hampered by the patriots during the first two quarters. It seemed to me that the ravens made adjustments in their approach and it was this which ultimately proved successful.

Originally posted by robbie carrobieWell, they weren't really passing the ball to much and when they did they didn't use multi reciever sets. Basically, its easier to cover fewer recievers especially when the QB starts under center because he has less time to make a read and throw the ball after a five step drop. In the second half they used a lot of shotgun passing packages and this is where the QB starts backed up and the center basically throws the ball under his legs to the QB to snap it and there are more wideouts who can get open along with the tight end who often makes a block and then releases to open space... Its difficult to cover this and when you put more men in coverage then the pass rush can't get to the QB then he has more time and the recievers can start running double move routes on the outside because there is more time and if you think that's bad enough the biggest problem with dropping more men into coverage is that it allows a team more room to run the ball... Its a nightmare. An offense doesn't want to just key in on weaknesses though... It takes a good balance of ideas much like in a chess game.

I for one have had enough of the blathering about the Harboughs as football's First Family. Especially when Eli Manning is a doofus for 51 weeks, six days, twenty-three hours, and fifty-eight minutes out of every year, but becomes a God if he is somehow delivered to the last two minutes of a Super Bowl, and Peyton Manning does some really excellent commercials making fun of himself.
It makes one wonder - what else did the Harbaugh brothers do together? Ancient Olympic wrestling?

I'm thinking Ullr goes with the 49ers as well given his past picks. We shall see.
49ers it is.
