So, then we get back to the WC. They want to be there, it's fine.
But they will get tougher schedules than the guys who pay the bills. The one 4 day rest is a little tough, but they will always have to have the odd short rest period. Tough luck kids, but there's nothing we can really do about it.
But that's just not the case. They manage this just fine in, say, the cricket world cup. The big-boys complaints about the presence of the minnows are even worse there. And yet, they manage to, more or less, have a fair schedule. Why can't rugby?

Because you can't have 3-4 day rest periods for the toughest contact sport in the world.

Also, let's not get carried away here. So, a few sides had ONE 4 day rest between games, the rest were 6-7, so they aren't treated like red-headed step-children. It's just ONE tough week.

Going by SA's poor showing against Samoa the AB's will make short work of them. They probably won't get the chance.

Anyone else think the home advantage is going to prove too much??

Hmmm, boks weren't looking great, but the Samoans seemed to be intent on just making life difficult for the boks with off the ball crap. They are lucky they didn't get 3 red cards in the game.
The ref was useless, as he seemed to breathe through a whistle.

I wouldn't worry too much buddy. The boks are showing that they win games. No flash, just getting more points as the opposition on the board. History remembers the winners, not win margins.

Hell, I can't think of a bigger one.
Tonga must be kicking themselves for the silly loss against Canada. Wonder if they would have gone for it like this if they actually had a chance of going through?

The real question should be would France have been so bad if they had a chance of being knocked out? I think not.

It was a shock but Fiji 4 years ago was probably a bigger one considering they actually knocked out one of the favorites for the last 8.

Fiji beating Wales is not an upset dude. Unexpected, maybe, but not an upset like this.

Dan Carter is out of the Rugby World Cup. This changes absolutely everything for us. We can no longer be called favourites. My money is now on South Africa, though I hope we can still pull through.

Ahem. Which game were you watching? The ref was incredibly one-eyed and the off-the-ball incidents from the Samoans were no worse than those of the Saffies. The Saffies very lucky to not get any red cards. The ref made some terrible calls which cost the Samoans momentum and potentially points. He needs to be sent back to ref school.

Furthermore, I can't believe no-one has mentioned the conflict of interest for the ref. Why this game was ever refereed by a Welshman is beyond belief. Can the RWC not see potential conflicts of interest? Why would you have any referees from any of the countries officiating games in the same pool as their home country? I find it unbelievable this is allowed to happen.
