Some good performances by some of the lads, some of the time.

Michael Vaughan was always going to be the deciding factor in England retaining the ashes. He would have got the lads better motivated than Freddie, and his tactics would have been alot better.

ElleEffsee, My prediction for a series whitewash is looking pretty good now mate!!!!

The Ashes celebrates a famous loss by English Cricketeers to Australian Cricketeers in 1882. The England- Australia match first began in 1877.

DID YOU KNOW: The first international cricket match was played in 1844 and own by the United States. The US team, led by baseball legend Harry Wright, beat the visiting Canadians by 10 wickets (whatever that means) in New York.

Doesn't the USA have a gold medal in olympic cricket too? I remember hearing something like that once...

No. Cricket has only been included in the Olympics once, in 1900. In that Olympics an English club team beat the only other entry, a french team composed entirely of players from the British embassy in paris to win the gold.

Since then Cricket has not been an Olympic event: I guess it isn't considered a big enough sport like ice dancing, luge, curling, synchronized swimming, canoeing, badminton, hand ball, ping pong, rhthymic gymanstics, and of course baseball.

Michael Vaughan will be rushed back into the team for the ODI series and will spectacularly fail to sparkle - my prediction.

It's probably not included because the US players are not skilled enough to compete in it... Unlike baseball.

The US are the reigning Olympic champions in rugby union, winning the gold medal at the 1924 Olympics, the last time the sport was included. The only other entrants were France and Romania.
