Twenty years after Doug Williams become the first black QB to win the Super Bowl, we have two black coaches leading teams out in this year’s game.
One hopes, the white American’s myth of the lack of intellect in the black man can finally be put to rest.

Now instead of one, their are two black coaches. That's how it should be every year

seriously, I'm joking. For 40 years nobody made a big deal about having two white coaches in the super bowl. They are just men, just like the rest of the men in the world
Originally posted by PocketKingsAfrican Americans have almost dominated several US sports since they were first let in (remember the segregated Negro leagues). The NFL has had black coaches only a few years, and now two have taken their teams to the superbowl. This event is not as big as Jackie Robinson, but it is another milestone in the destruction of American Apartheid:

Jackie Robinson
Willie Mays
Arthur Ashe
Tiger Woods
and so on
Only a few years ago, when Peyton Manning was a college QB, many of his teammates were in jail during mid-summer. I listened as some good ol' boy told me that UT's discipline problems were a consequence of interference from the North ("if the Yankees hadn't imposed integration," etc.). Some ideas, especially those rooted in ignorance and prejudice, die hard.

Does the first coach with blue eyes to coach in the super bowl matter?
first coach with a beard?
first coach with dentures?
first coach born in Nebraska?
It doesn't matter if they are black or white, and I'm tired of hearing about it, They should be honored and proud to be in the super bowl because of team and personal achievement, not because they are black. And it really grinded my gears when the first question asked to Lovie after the game on TV was not about the team, their performance, the players or his coaching achievement.... it was about him being black. Thats ridiculous.

Please don't call this a White American’s myth. It's a bigoted view held by uneducated idiots, not just white Americans.
I'm a white American, and this is certainly not my view on this subject.

Did you even read my previous post? The sorts of statements (bt good ol's boys) I reported there are still far more common than they should be. If such ideas were non-existent, then colorblindness would be possible. Because they do exist, however, your advocacy of colorblindness is naive and misguided.
Two black coaches in the Superbowl is a notable moment in the long, and ongoing struggle for racial equality in the United States. When equality is an everyday reality in all areas of American life, then, and only then, it will not matter that the coaches are black or white.

Its beating a dead horse over and over and over again. People need to understand that segregation is over and equal rights exist. Some people may choose not to believe that just like some people choose not to use their seatbelt, but both are the law. How long do we have to keep hearing about the first black whatever... porn star for all i care?
The horse is dead, people need to stop beating it. I just want to watch the football game, not hear black this and that!
