Can we turn this into a sort of competition for bragging rights?
I've played this type of format game with some friends for other rugby competitions and it works pretty well.
For every game you have to predict the score.
Points are awarded as follows:
Predict the winning side:
5 points
Draws are almost impossible to predict, so you get 2 points if you predicted a winning side and it's a draw, but if you predicted a draw, you get 5 points
If your predicted points margin is within:
12 points = 1 point
6 points = 3 points
3 points = 5 points
For the actual scoreline you predicted, points are awarded as follows:
For every game you start with 5 points (max) per (team) score. 1 point is deducted for every 5 points you are off from the actual score.
So, you can get 20 points maximum per prediction.
So, for example:
I predict SA to beat Samoa: SA 37 - Samoa 15
The final score is: SA 27 - Samoa 3
My score for this game:
Win = 5 points
Point margin = within 3 of my prediction (prediction 37-15=25, actual 27-3=24) = 5 points
Scoreline:
SA (37-27=10) = 3 points
Samoa (15-3=12) = 2 points
TOTAL = 5+5+3+2=15
What do you guys think?
I like this kind of game, because it takes as much as possible from the game to award your points. It may be an open game, so your scores may be out of whack, bu if you call the correct margin, you can still score some points.

You will end up with bragging rights for whoever wins at the end .
My suggestion is 5 points for a correct prediction of a draw.
4 points awarded for a win
3 points for an unpredicted draw
You can pick up bonus points for score nominations .You dont actually pick a scoreline but pick whether the winning margin will be more or less than 7 .If you get it correct you pick up a bonus point.
At times throughout the Cup i will hold random chances to pick up bonus points,FOR Example , Tries scored in certain games,First try scorers.
FOOTNOTE as there has already been tips from people this bonus point system might not work.
