Originally posted by jankrbThanks for the reply. Looks like Group 3 will be a large group. I have looked at a couple of the past championship torunaments and they were smaller in size than the current Group 3. I guess more players are enterning now.
In all previous championships, round three was the final round.
So I think it will be the same for this year.
It can become a large group.....
Tournament 10998
Group 1 has been won by jankrb (as forseen)
In group 10 David Tebb can secure his advancement by taking timeouts against Lorgen. Bebop5 has another game to win.
Originally posted by KailenTime is a factor in the games. After using up your time you lose. However the timeout is automatic only after about 2 days, so people can continue playing despite the fact that one player can claim his win. The winner can still be the person who could have lost on time. Since the "winner" has to claim the win.
how does taking timeouts mean D Tebb goes through - I don't understand surely he has to win the game?

A nuance is that in tournaments the loss is automatically awarded two days after the timeout, to keep the tournament moving.
group 10 is decided David Tebb and Bebop5 jointly win the group.
In group 7 we have the final fight between kaoslos and Chucker
In group 6 there is a four way fight for the next round, though Cityblue would have to win all outstanding games. Nimzo needs 7 of 9 points to secure the next round and could still be the sole winner. Grenzwolf needs to win the last game and Nimzo to draw at least once. The same is true for Sven1000, who seems to be in timing problems.
A lot has happened here. We have 10 of 13 groups decided:
group 1: jnkrb, group 2: armeng, group 3 cohonas, group 4: tigerking, grup 5: PA82 and backfrom 1994, group 6: nimzo5, group 10: David Tebb and Bebop5, group 11: SeinfeldFan91, group 12: kailen, group13: PAWN RIOT and adybay.
In group 9 princess xena is securely qualified but fights on with no1marauder in a game which has already seen 80 moves Game 8457661
In group 7 Kaoslos and Chucker are battling for the win a game with 120 moves: Game 8457476
and group 8 sees still 5 contenders.
