I'm more thinking about the points their opponenets won against them... As I won't get to play them, I will lose the opportunity to (edit - try and) win points from them. Also - will there not be rounds with a 'spare' player as we now have an odd number?
When the time comes for the next round pairings, if there is an odd number of players, I'll first see if anyone would like a "bye" for that round. If not, probably the person most out of contention will be chosen for a bye. It's way too early to worry about that yet.
