Maharajah and the Sepoys is a asymmetrical variant with a full black army against a single Maharajah

Maharajah and the Sepoys is an asymmetrical variant played on a standard board. Black plays near standard rules, and White playing just a Maharajah piece.

Starting Position

Black pieces setups as normal, with the single White Maharajah opposing them.

Black plays a full set against a single white Maharaja .

The Maharajah can capture the checking Pawn, but is unable to retreat into the E file which is attacked by the black Queen.

Pawn Promotion

There is no black Pawn promotion - a black Pawn remains a pawn and is unable to advance further once it reaches the last rank.

Black Pawn will remain a Pawn on the eigth rank, and is not promoted

Castling rules remains the same as Standard Chess.

Check and Checkmate rules remain the same as Standard Chess.

Stalemate conditions remain the same as Standard Chess.

Draw conditions remain the same as Standard Chess.

Winning

Black's must checkmate the Maharajah, and White's must checkmate the Black's king.
