@mghrn55
Play fair and police the system when they don't?
Your team has multiple players with 60 percent win rate or higher.
That is mathematically impossible without a subsequent rating increase which would balance out the win/loss record to 50% average.
If this doesn't happen then they are throwing casual games and taking the clan games more serious.
Or they are playing people rated below them which I have been told by all clan leaders who post....that doesn't happen....
So the answer is the first one.
Clan members are sandbagging.
@wycombe-al said"maybe clan divisions would work with promotion and relegation each year"
@Relentless-Red i think also there are too many clans, maybe clan divisions would work with promotion and relegation each year and play off places, say 20 clans in each division
That's not a half-bad idea right there.
@wycombe-al saidAgreed, sounds like a fair way and then other games can't be used to adjust ratings!
@C-I-V clan rating a good idea in my opinion

@mghrn55 saidall them troublemakers have since vanished
That was proposed back in 2017.
The beta version that Russ presented back then was wrong in concept.
That was to assign a rating to clans which never worked.
What we wanted was to have a separate rating for players for clan games.
But that would have meant building a new index for each player, which meant a database change, which is usually considerable IT work from my e ...[text shortened]... spect of the clan feature.
Counting on players to play fair. And police the system when they don't.
the clan feature is strong and healthy
@lemondrop saidExcept for you giving points away on a silver platter and resigning positions not lost at 8 - 10 moves!!!!
all them troublemakers have since vanished
the clan feature is strong and healthy

On the subject of the clan system dying,I had a look on the "clans" page and the number of pages of clans stops after 5(unless it's an anomaly on my machine) and some of those aren't very active
When I was clan leader I'm sure there were more clans than 5 pages worth so that would suggest the clan system is not that healthy
@venda yep there were more active clans, i think tournaments are a lot more attractive to players these days, some of the clubs have very large active numbers. i think also one or two clans having a stanglehold over then clan title
for many years made it all a bit tiresome, reason i stopped watching the premiership years ago!
"i think also one or two clans having a stanglehold over then clan title"
The problem "as ever" is that all anyone ever looks at in the clan list is net points.
This also spawns all the interminable debates over the years on how points are allocated
If you filter on "most challenges won" you get a different picture.
It's still not a genuine measure of course because of the numbers of challenges played by each clan
@wycombe-al saidI agree with that.I'm not sure why the league format is so unpopular.Maybe it's because of the inevitable bad match ups which a responsible clan leader would never accept.
@venda i think the current clan format doesn't work, i liked the clan leagues format but sadly it was not popular, i think clan leagues needs to come back as the incentive to play in a clan
A "strong" clan is always going to have an advantage.
Personally, it didn't bother me if I was drawn against a higher rated player.I played to the best of my ability, knowing I would most likely lose and that was good enough for me.

I am pretty sure there were at least double. I concur the current system is not healthy at all.
