What's 'young'? Less than 50?

Did The Ramones display 'individuality'?

Are The White Stripes dull? Modest Mouse? Angels of Light? Marc Ribot? Les Claypool?

exploremusic.ca
audioporncentral.com
vampirefreaks.com

But you are correct....I'd say about 80% of it goes straight into the recycle bin. Pandora.com was great before they cut off access from Canada. I find lastfm to be a waste of my time.

I do recommend Moby's "Pale horses" highly though. Check out the youtube video...
I found a lot of music through last.fm.

LMAO! Stop acting so old.

Off the top of my head:

Drums: Zach Hill, Greg Saunier, Chris Pennie, Sean Reinert, Damon Che
Guitar: Spencer Seim, Rob Crow, Dave Longstreth, Devin Townsend
Bass: Who cares

All prolific and amazing musicians and songwriters. I challenge you to find me ANY musician from the past who produces sounds like Hill, Saunier, Pennie, Longstreth (especially in voice), Seim or Townsend.

Not too mention the groundbreaking things being done in electronic music by many acts out there, but I doubt you'd consider them to be playing instruments.

But yeah, you don't really care because I've told you this a million times already....

Actually, with respect to bass, Brian Gibson of Lightning Bolt produces sounds that would have you wondering if Zeus was playing the instrument.

"Gibson plays his bass guitar tuned to cello standard tuning, in intervals of fifths (C G D A), using a banjo string for the high A. He used this four-string setup for several years, but has recently been seen using a five-string setup, tuned to C G D A E, with banjo strings for the A and E.[15] Gibson also uses several effects pedals, including overdrive pedals, an octaver, a delay pedal, and a whammy pedal (pitch shifter)."

"Lightning Bolt are known for their so-called "guerrilla gigs", preferring to play on the floor of the venue rather than the stage, creating a tight circle of spectators around the band.[19] They have also been known to start playing only a few seconds after the opening band finishes, often taking the audience by surprise.[20] In 2004, Lightning Bolt played on the doorstep of radio DJ John Peel's chalet at noon during the All Tomorrow's Parties festival, about which neighbor Steve Albini of Shellac and Big Black commented "Best alarm clock I've ever had."[21] They have also staged concerts in kitchens,[17] on sidewalks,[22] and in parking lots.[10] In 2009, Lightning Bolt performed at Primavera Sound Festival on stage, hooked up to a professional sound system. This is perhaps the first time Lightning Bolt have ever been seen onstage."

When did Palynka prove that 1000 monkeys typing on a keyboard (the same keyboard? a longboard?) eventually typed out words? I'd have to see that before I believe it.
typical palynka-esque response. When asked for details, you have none.

I suggest you purchase carbon-credits for the waste of electricity you used in sending that post

OK, I give in, your withering sarcasm has broken me. Here's my secret: get some friends with similar interests and share stuff, from simple information to actual music! Far from being a major chore that diverts essential energy and time from the crucial television appointment, it's actually quite fun!

Have you got friends with similar interests?

No no no...you implied you knew WHERE to get music off the internet, as we note in your post here:

" But I manage to find new stuff -- fantastic mind-blowing stuff I've never heard in my life -- ALL THE TIME -- and it takes no more than fifteen, and sometimes as few as five, minutes a day!!! No doubt I'm an amazing music magnet!

(I'd let you in on my secret but you're probably too busy watching sports on tv and stuff.)"

Are you now saying you don't actually discover new bands on the internet?

Gmail's on the Internet, isn't it? We like, email each other and stuff.

I also have a few blogs bookmarked that provide me with more music than I can handle. Typically, one good thing leads to another.

You're the guy who said Ex-Models sounded exactly like NIN's Further SDown the Spiral, so no, I have nothing for you. You're hopeless.

I SAID the song you put on a cd for me by the Ex-models sounded like a song NIN did on Further down the spiral. I forget the name now but, let's do another one shall we?

http://www.myspace.com/exmodels

"Buy American" is the song that has the most hits so let's try that one...

http://www.amazon.com/Further-Down-Spiral-Nine-Nails/dp/B000001Y89

Song 2

VERY similar once both songs get going imo. Only substantive difference is how the singers sing...Musically, very similar.

I never said all of the ex-models songs sound like NIN. That would just be stupid.
