Joe Lavano and Hank Jones. Live at Dizzy's Place...The amazing Mr Jones. In his upper 80's and can play with anyone.
Carla Bley - The Lost Chords find Paolo Fresu....You can never go wrong with Carla and Steve Swallow.
Jon Balke = Book of Velocities...This is solo piano. I've never heard anyone play like Balke. He'll try anything.
All three if these I highly reccomend.
Originally posted by badmoonGood rec for the Jones / Lovano album. I've long had a soft spot for Jones. My favorite album by far of his is "The Oracle" with Dave Holland and Billy Higgins. I'm glad I got a copy before it went OOP.

From reviews I've read, the Balke sounds really interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Balke is a new name to me. Thanks for mentioning it.

I (relatively) recently saw Tim Kliphuis, a violinist whose music is not dissimilar to that of Stéphane Grappelli, live, and loved it! Thus, my sister-in-law decided to buy me a Stéphane Grappelli with Django Reinhardt box set for Christmas.
It's wonderful!
I'll take a look at the Recently Played window of my J-River Media Center:
