President Obama’s accused drunken-driving uncle — who was busted after a near collision with a Framingham cop — has had a valid Social Security number for at least 19 years, despite being an illegal immigrant ordered to be deported back to Kenya, the Herald has learned.
Mike Rogers, a spokesman for Cleveland immigration attorney Margaret Wong, who is ...[text shortened]... federal crime right? Does Obama give his relatives special consideration?

The Democrats have no right to blame Nader for the lack of run off voting in this country. It is not his fault at all and it is irrational to blame him and I reject that claim altogether. Democrats don't hold a grudge with Nader. Who talked you into that nonsense?
Your claim that Nader is not a viable candidate is also silly. Name 3 positions he has t ...[text shortened]... ike a cave man when you say stuff like you do. Democrat no like Nader, now kill boar and eat.
And to be sure, if the Nader voters in Florida in 2000 had voted for Gore instead of Nader, then Gore would have won the presidency, a candidate much more aligned with Nader's positions than the religious fundamentalist Bush who became president.
Thus, Nader voters in Florida in 2000 voting for Nader defeated, devastated, and setback the very principles of eco-friendly, consumer-friendly, and worker-friendly principles Nader stood for.
The Nader voters could have advanced the postions that are important to them if they had voted for Gore. Instead, not only did they waste their vote on Nader, they gave the presidency to Bush who destroyed and setback the positions they adhere. Stupidity.
In Florida in 2000, a vote for Nader was a vote for Bush.
Originally posted by normbenignYou make a good point, but the question is that while the independents may scrutinize Obama more closely and not be overly happy with him, they may dislike and be scared of the Republican candidate (e.g., Perry) more. Current polling has Obama and Perry tied at 47-47.
That situation generally leads to lots of people sitting it out, and Obama didn't win on overwhelming support from the left. Independents who where supposed to fall into McCain's camp went for Obama.
This time the "Yes we can.....and Hope and Change" will be looked at a bit more realistically. Slogans can't explain away incompetance and impotence.
The economy hurts Obama. But the power of incumbency combined with the uncertainty about the Republican candidate could very well give Obama the win.
This is especially so if the Republicans nominate a more fringe religious fundamentalist candidate like Perry or Bachmann who would likely scare independents more than they are unhappy with Obama.

" [b]The Democrat rank-and-file despise Nader."
People are forgetful, and most lefties like Nader rhetoric. He may not be as "unelectable" as you think.
The problem for Democrats, and for any party with an unpopular incumbent President, is that the incumbent takes all the air out of the room. The VP and High cabinet people are not likely to ...[text shortened]... t, with charisma, or a young lion.
Gore or Kerry, no charisma. Nader at least has that.[/b]
Originally posted by Metal BrainFirst, let me say, I agree with Nader, and not just the positions you mention. But you are being idealistic and naive about the American people. Pushing big government, regulations, standards, "socialism", pacifism will not get one elected today. You give the American people too much credit.
Funny how everybody says that but gives no reason for it.
Why not give me an example like this:
People love wars deep down inside so they won't vote for Nader. War fatigue is a myth imposed on us by the liberal news media.
Nader spoke out against corporate personhood and everybody loves big corporations. They make the air clean and they are people ...[text shortened]... to overpopulation which is causing global warming. Liberals hate him for that so he can't win.
Originally posted by Metal BrainI did not say that Nader or the Nader voters are not to blame for the lack of a runoff voting. And because I like Nader's positions is why I despise Nader voters.
The Democrats have no right to blame Nader for the lack of run off voting in this country. It is not his fault at all and it is irrational to blame him and I reject that claim altogether.
The Nader voters in Florida in 2000 knew there would not be a runoff. Yet, they still voted for Nader instead of Gore and put Bush into the White House.
Bush is antithetical to Nader's positions. Obviously, Gore would have been much more in tune with Nader's positions.
Thus, the Nader voters setback their own positions for at least a generation, especially considering the massvie number Bush appointees to the federal judiciary who will strike down consumer-protection laws, envrionmental laws, etc., and who will further enhance the power of the executive branch to conduct war at will.
Nader voters = stupid. The Democrats know that and do not forget. Moreover, Democrats smartly know the most important issue is to retain the Whitehouse. Nader is a distraction not worthy of discussion.

Also, the Dream Act pertains solely to immigrants who were brought to the US as babies or children and have displayed good behavior. Typically the have nothing in their native countries and they know nothing about the culture, and sometimes they don't even know their native language.
It says in those specific cases if they serve in the military or successfully complete 2 years of college they have a path to citizenship. The Dream Act doesn't pertain to him.
But in fairness to you, you're a Republican. I fully expect you guys to know absolutely nothing about the issues when you form passionate opinions and flame Democrats.
Oh, and FACT: Under Obama border patrols have grown to their greatest numbers in history. FACT: Under Obama deportations have dramatically increased.

Fact Obamas Aunt was given asylum, his uncle will never be charged for having an illegal S.S. number, fact, Obama knew about these lost relatives. fact had the public known this in pre-election days, his chances of being elected would have dropped significantly..
fact, his own party shot the dream Act down, so what did they see, that you didn't??? You're much smarter than anyone in congress right...
You liberals are always fighting from a defensive stance... backing up all day long.
you're savior is a big fat bust. And that will show up once again in his ratings after his game changing speach..don't hold your breath.....

Back your claim it was shot down by the Democrats.
You didn't even know the contents of the DREAM Act, that is a fact.
So let's say a 19 year old kid was brought here illegally from Germany by his mother when he was a baby. He has nothing to go back to in Germany, he doesn't know the culture and he doesn't even speak the language.
He's never committed any crimes and he's been a good member of society. He's willing to enlist in the military and serve this country.
Make your case for why he should be deported.
I see..... red herrings in our future!
