Well, if the Democrats ever get control of the WH and Congress then could jettison the filibuster and put say 10 new justices on the SCOTUS who will recognize a women's right to bodily sovereignty.

You do not seem to understand, that ALL that SCOTUS did was determine that it is a State issue, not a federal issue. Not too hard, man. So they sent it to the States. It is the law, no insanity whatsoever. How is it insane? IT is the law. YOu want to change the law. I am curious what you want to change it t. YOu are aware of the ghouls who are killing and dismembering children in the womb. This is not some dr pulling a 3 week embryo. So if you come up with a new way to have the law, keep that in mind.

none of you seem to understand your own law process. Geez. Roe v wade ruling was that states can't ban abortion. 2 years ago the Supreme Court overturned that ruling allowing states to again ban abortion.

So, what EXACTLY are the democrats going to do? Pass a law that allows abortion nationwide regardless of the laws of each state? Ok, but what happens then when that law gets appealed to the supreme court? The SC would have to decide if the Fed government's law over-riding states' law is constitutional.

And what do you think the SC will rule on that question? They will overturn that law.

So, people vote for the democrats hoping the democrats create a law that will be overturned by the SC.

Try making one point. We should stipulate that it is clear in the Constitution that feds aint got nothing to do with abortion, it belongs in the states. I have actually helped you, your post will now be only half as long.

There are no "state" issues.

Surely not among the basic human rights issues.

Do you really think women in California have more of a right to control their own bodies than a woman in Oklahoma?

How can you think a child in New York City has more of a right to see their 15th birthday free from gun violence than a kid in Topeka?

"States' rights" is just an excuse. An excuse to control lives like the Third Reich used to control lives.

One of the fundemental ideas of the US Constitution is that people EVERYWHERE are guaranteed the SAME rights. You'd throw out the Bill of Rights too, claiming that people in one state need less rights than someone in another state.
