@wolfe63 saidThe question was about vaccines specifically about vaccines if the antibodies fail to protect.
Am I a "Man of Genious"?
No, but I am a man that can spell it.
I'm not compelled to show off professional knowledge right now. I'm very tired.
But maybe I'll address your idiocy over an espresso in the morning.
In the meantime, you might want to investigate phagocytosis, pyrexia and a cascade of other elements essential to immunity.
Explain how the issues you brought up has anything to do with vaccine antibodies and antibodies you get after surviving getting sick.
I look forward to seeing your explanation.
@eladar saidSo your specific worry is that SARS CoV-2 might have universal resistance to "antibodies" and therefore a vaccine's potential effectiveness is thereby nullified?

If true, then are you assuming that those whom have already survived have done so on a basis of luck or divine intervention?
I believe that hashing out technical aspects in respect to immunoglobulin types and their specific affinities and avidities is not possible with you at this time.
You're bright enough.
Don't be "Rush Limbaugh" lazy.
Do your own homework.
Ask intelligent questions.
Formulate a fact-based hypothesis.
Then, submit it to debate.

@wolfe63 saidI was not the one that brought up that people who had this are getting sick again. That was shav. I was just pointing out that if this is true then vaccines could not work either.

Actually, I don’t know if a vaccine will work or not if people are able to re-catch Corona.
I’ve not heard anyone suggest it won’t, but I’ve not really looked into it. And my knowledge of viruses is very limited.
Perhaps someone should delve into the subject?
Na, fukk that, let’s see what Rush Limbaugh has to say on it...

@eladar saidWhy do you think most people survive being infected?
If antibodies do not stop covid19, no vaccine can work.
@eladar saidThe European Education system seems to be a bit limited.
The European Education system seems to be a bit limited. In the US we are required to take classes in many fields. So what is common knowledge to those who retain knowledge is unknown to you.
Here, educate yourself.

Then please explain to us why Europeans are better educated than Americans in both math and languages as well as the other arts and sciences.
After reading your posts for the last few weeks, I highly doubt you've ever been an"educator" π

@eladar saidMoron.

I just looked at your link, right now: how does a vaccine work...
Duh! Yeah. I know that.
What I’m saying is: there are cases of people re-catching corona... which means the build up of antibodies hasn’t worked... and that I don’t know what this means for vaccinations.
Indeed, what I’ve heard is that the severity of infection influences the scope of complications. So, breathing in one infected sneeze causes less complications and than breathing in 20 infected sneezes.
And that people who had less complications are building up less immunity and could be prone to re-catching the virus.
If a vaccine will circumvent this or not, I do not know. And your link doesn’t either.
@divegeester saidShav is the one who made the claim the antibodies do not protect you from getting sick. The claim is that people who get better get sick again.
How do you think most people survive being infected?
It is not my belief. I am just explaining what that would mean about vaccines.
Now that I have explained this more than once in this thread I am done with you.
@eladar saidIf you're going to say things like that you might want to consider switching your spell checker on first.
You are perect example of European ignorance.
@shavixmir saidIs this anecdotal? There's several possibilities beyond immunity failure. The first is that the initial infection was in fact influenza, they're pretty similar, and unless the individual was tested both times one of the infections could be misidentified as covid-19. The second possibility is that they were, in fact, only infected once and appeared to recover but the disease became worse again. I've heard stories that it's difficult to shake off.

I haven't heard of reinfections, but haven't checked the medical literature.
