I do, however, believe that those unemployed for more than a year or two are not trying hard enough to find a job.

Plenty of cheats .. plenty.
Lots of people living off the system .. quite comfortably too. Babies having babies as a means of support is just our Welfare system taken to it's logical conclusion .. the "lifestyle" of the poor and vulneranle .

That is neither an alternative political system nor a way of implementing it. It is an ideal, which is pretty pointless on its own if there is no way of making it happen that doesn't result in people who aren't fit to work, or are temporarily put out of jobs because of a company going bust.
