We've heard this idiot claim before, there is only so much energy in a square meter of sunlight, there's no where to go. And the sun only shines x numbers of hours a day.
This is why tech companies vote Dem: conservative ignorance about technology.

There's vast number of ways solar technology can improve, such as batteries to store excess energy. The energy efficiency of solar panels may also improve, so that one day of sunlight can power a home for a week.

As solar panels become more popular business will start investing in them and come up with solutions not previously thought possible, just like with cell phones and the internet.

But here's the thing: If the technology is efficient enough to be worth it, then the government doesn't have to throw a dime at it. And if it's not, then unless the government is going to subsidize everyone's utility bills forever, it's one massive exercise in futility.
https://www.budget.senate.gov/chairman/newsroom/press/sen-whitehouse-on-fossil-fuel-subsidies-we-are-subsidizing-the-danger-#:~:text=It's

the United States subsidizes the fossil fuel industry with taxpayer dollars. It’s not just the US: according to the International Energy Agency, fossil fuel handouts hit a global high of $1 trillion in 2022 – the same year Big Oil pulled in a record $4 trillion of income.

Your post is based on ignorance and misinformation, likely gained from whatever conservative outlets you frequent.

You make up for any manufacturing cost within 3 years of running that solar panel. They will also get better.
Zhalanzi predicts the future!! I am sure there will be no surprises or downside?

Australia tried this and it was like virtually every mega project a major failure
This claim is probably false. I'm sure your only source of information is a debunked conservative site.

Nuclear energy leaves nice, "clean" waste which is toxic for tens of thousands of years. And the entire industry couldn't exist without government subsidies and special protections, so your post is hilariously internally inconsistent.
lets pretend solar panels dont create toxic waste… carry on 🙄

Solar doesn't even fight climate change like he falsely claimed. Making the panels puts a lot of CO2 in the atmosphere.
The carbon footprint of making solar panels is still far less than than that of the fossil fuel industry. Furthermore they actually reduce carbon:

Solar Panels Reduce CO2 Emissions More Per Acre Than Trees

You're just ignorant.

Out of date information:

" all residential and commercial solar installations happening today are done with silicon cells, which contain no toxins."

"When standard silicon-photovoltaic-cell solar panels are broken apart there are no major toxic chemicals released into the environment."

"Manufacturers making new Tier 1 solar panels use almost entirely non-toxic chemicals, meaning that you don’t need to search for non-toxic solar panels to expect them to be used in your project. Even factoring in emissions caused during the manufacture of solar panels, solar is still about 100 times less polluting than coal and 50 times less polluting than natural gas."

there are at least seven different types of solar cells…your link SELLS solar panels…

“Stanford Magazine also points out that solar energy has a higher carbon footprint than wind and nuclear energy. Ray Weiss, a professor of Geochemistry at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, explains that a number of solar panels release nitrogen trifluoride (NF3), a chemical compound 17,000 times worse for the atmosphere than carbon dioxide. As recently as 2015, he explained that many manufacturers were still struggling to figure out how to contain its release into the atmosphere.”

This same website is pro-fossil fuel:

Ferrari Energy Describes How the Oil and Gas Industries are Refueling Reinvention

For economies to grow, they need oil and natural gas, because renewable energies aren't prolific or affordable yet

It's rare to see any site so proudly suck up to the fossil fuel business.

Some more recent studies, not from a fossil fuels lobbying group:

"The rising environmental concern among the consumers is pushing the growth of the industry forward. A variety of perfluorinated compounds used by electronics manufacturers to clean process chamber walls generate greenhouse gas emissions. As nitrogen trifluoride has lower emission rate, its use in cleaning processes can reduce equivalent greenhouse gas emissions by six or seven times, thus reducing global warming and protecting the earth's climate."

Funny that the Democrats passed legislation to boost domestic manufacturing of solar panels then:

"

"industry advocacy group SEIA has already suggested that the tax credits in IRA could spur upwards of 30 GW of new solar panel manufacturing capacity in the United States. Add in inverter, tracker and battery manufacturing, and a true domestic supply chain of components for solar and storage projects could finally be realized."

"“Nextracker strongly supports the Inflation Reduction Act, which will immediately increase hiring at our U.S. factories. Together with our colleagues in the clean energy industry, this action will add over 500,000 jobs. Accelerating solar’s use in the grid will lower bills for electricity customers while reducing emissions 40%. Energy independence and decoupling from overseas inflation factors has never been more important."
