I could not find the source study from the NPR link. I'm sure there is a better explanation for the perception masks are effective. Epidemiological studies are known to be flawed and I would go so far as to say they are worthless. Randomized clinical trials are the only true measure.
Biden is either ignorant or a liar. Does he think the Swedish and Dutch governments were Neanderthals too? They based their decisions on the science, real science. Not pathetic epidemiological studies that are unscientific.
California had mask mandates and Florida did not. CA had more covid cases than FL and FL didn't have many more deaths despite having a lot of old people living there. The Netherlands had no mask mandates for a long time and was not even in the top 10 in Europe of covid cases despite being next to Begium and they were #1 in Europe.
People drive to other counties all the time. I drive to a nearby county do do my shopping in Gaylord. The notion that a county makes a big difference because of masks is absurd. People drive to counties that have bigger towns to shop. That is where covid cases are higher.
Epidemiological studies are fake science.
