@ghost-of-a-duke saidI believe hypotheticals offered during a debate should be at least slightly plausible.
So you also believe in a world without borders? (Or do you just 'really' like mayonnaise? )
@kevcvs57 saidYes, I agree with that completely. (Though will always dislike mayonnaise).
It’s not an either / or you can be against borders and still really like mayonnaise, no hang on, I mean you can believe in national borders and still maintain them in a civilised and humane way.
@kazetnagorra saidOkay, replace Isle of Wight with Los Angeles.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidWhat if all Americans move to LA?
Okay, replace Isle of Wight with Los Angeles.
@kazetnagorra saidThe hypothetical was that the world population, standing shoulder to shoulder, could fit in LA.
What if all Americans move to LA?
Edit: Ah ok, I take the point from your question.
@mister-moggy saidNo, they ran away like cowards so they wouldn't have to face the consequences of their unspeakable crimes. Find an analogy that works.
@KazetNagorra
do you feel the same way about nazi era stalag guards who are sent back to europe when they are 80 or 90 years of age and have lived here a half century ?

@kevcvs57 saidYet, for whatever reason, he never pursued.
So what do you do with native born sufferers of ‘Paranoid Schizophrenia’ send them off to some random country, or do you organise some control measures to ensure that they take their meds. Nobody is arguing that a criminal should be allowed to roam the streets but this guy had been in your country so long that he was to all intents and purposes an American, certainly that’s ...[text shortened]... the Iraqi extremists would have categorised him if he had lived long enough to get collared by them.
He entered the country as a refugee along with his family and should have been making provisions to become a full Citizen. And if his parents knew he was so meant to be damaged, they should have been taking better care of him and ensuring some path forward for you.
Now, life is quite difficult, and I don't think that he should have been sent back since he is in the state where he could not have hoped to survive and flourish there. However, the state isn't the only actor that failed here. I'm not sure what I would have done if I were the judge, I would have needed more information and, of course I would have needed familiarity with the laws and they legal understanding.
This might be like other controversial decisions where the law have to be followed. And that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a new and more clear law.

@philokalia saidCoincidentally that's how I imagine you read everything.
I love reading posts like this is an obnoxious, high voice.
