I don't disagree that the US played a major part in defeating the Nazis. That's not the same as saying that Spain, who were neutral, was somehow 'saved' by the US. The Nazis were fought to a standstill by Britain, the Red Army and various resistance groups. Then the US got involved.
In terms of the war against Japan, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Ind ...[text shortened]... r mind what language we'd be speaking without the 'protection' of the US - German or Russian.

what is badger baiting?
Is there hedgehog harassing? sorry, couldn't resist..
Actually, no. It's much worse.
Basically it involves coaxing a badger from it's set (burrow), then setting dogs on it:

Cock fighting isn't illegal in the phillippines, the birds can be worth a lot of money and are generally looked after very well by thier owners. At the end of the fight the carcuss of the losing bird is given to owner of the winning bird to eat. Winning birds that are injuried in the fight are patched up by the vet and nursed back to health, or are quickly killed for the pot. The fights normally last between a few seconds to a couple of minutes, occasionally a fight might go on for longer say 10 minutes but that is generally the exception rather than the rule.
Is it cruel ? yes with out a doubt, but then consider the life of the some of the chickens that are sold in the supermarket, intensively farmed & then slaughtered in mass at the abbattoir. This seems to me, to be equally (if not more) as cruel.

Pit-bulls have gotten a bad rap because of drug dealers who use them to protect their dope stashes. The dog is only doing his job protecting his masters property.
How many times have you heard the remark 'He's great with kids and wouldn't harm anyone' from the owner of dogs such as Pit Bulls? And how many children have been attacked by these same dogs? The main problem as I see it is that these type of dogs attract a certain sort of owner in general. These are 'macho' types, with small brains, who are looki ...[text shortened]... while pitbulls have posed serious problems to the point where some AR groups have actually recommended widespread euthanization, it should not be assumed that every pitbull is going to be dangerous beyond control. the proof is that there are responsible owners who have 'safe' dogs.
the widespread extinction of pitbulls may be quite a reasonable goal through sterilization considering the purpose they are bred for, but to slaughter individual ones on the assumption that they are going to do something terrible doesn't seem to be correct.

here we have something called "canned hunts", where "hunters' buy "wild animals" from zooz, and animal oparks, and use them for hunting.
Hunters pay alot of money to shoot lions, cougars, panthers, and other large animals. They stand next to the cage and when the animal is released, they either set the dogs on it or shoot it. The animal is usually so docile that it just stands there, or it is so terrified by the dogs it tries to hide by the hunters.
