What the questioning does is try to create a set of circumstances in which Palestine is not a country (or nation, for people who wish to nitpick).

However, the basic definitions are wrong.
Countries, nations, empires and nationalistic entities do not have to submit to the definitions which you propose; hence my argument about Scotland.

Which could have just as well been about African tribes and the borders created there by Europeans. Or America and the neglection of land of the indiginous peoples.

Some would like to count 'palestinian' as a race, they'd also like to declare 'Israeli' as a race too, so they can then play the racism/apartheid card, but even the race card abusers are beginning to realise that card has nearly been played all the way out, it's been so overused that genuine racists get a kind of free pass.

That is not an issue. Indigenous Arabs did own land in that region, just like many other nationalities. What they did not have is control over that territory.

All the land was legally owned and the Palestinians held title to the land, and still do.
But the reining Nazis of the land don't recognize them. The Registry of Deeds was destroyed in 1967
