The genious with the Chinese characters is that more than a billion people can read the same characters, no matter what language they speak. If they don't understand the spoken language, they can always understand the written language, no matter where in China you are. A ...[text shortened]... e a là Chinese could in fact unite all people globally.
With our alphabet it's not possible.
