@mott-the-hoople saidDon’t be absurd.
got your ass handed to you ehh?
The dude quotes the one known scientist who disagrees with tackling global warming. And then goes on to conclude this means the UN report is worthless.
Please! You right-wing nuts are moronic.
@shavixmir saidoh...another my guy is smarter then your guy and you vehemantly insist yours is correct.

@mott-the-hoople saidYes. My guy isn’t one guy.

It’s the UN research panel, consisting of thousands of reaearch institutes and scientists.
Hence that I can safely say: the odds are very much against your guy being right.
And even more to the point of this thread: things are going to change, whether you or your guy want them to or not.
@shavixmir saidThe entire scientific community has been proven wrong repeatedly throughout history by non conformists. The odds? The odds were wildly against every "radical thinker" questioning the status quo. Your point is moot. Either he is correct, or he is not. The weight of the all the opinions sheeple shatter like glass encountering the immoveable mountain of truth.

@joe-shmo saidWhat exactly is a non conformist in regards to your thread ?

This is a pretty incoherent and useless post.
Would you mind telling us what the mountain of truth is ?

@mghrn55 saidPeople with different ideas than the "current" status quo of a scientific field. Like "the earth is the center of the universe", "time and space are not independent", ect... look it up... There is a long list of maverick thinkers who's ideas were rejected and weren't proven correct until after the deaths.

@joe-shmo saidThe scientific field is the last field to be "status quo".

If you are looking for status quo, try religion.
"The earth is the center of the universe" ??
It was the scientific field that pulled humanity out of that ancient dogma.
If you are trying to make an argument, please try not to contradict yourself.
And please know what you are talking about.
You're embarrassing yourself.

But go on, give us 3 examples.
Come on! Show us the non-conformists proving the entire scientific community wrong! 3 examples!

Here is 7, pick the top 3.
Here is 10 widely believed theories, that eventually turned out to be incorrect ( some overlap with the 7 above ).
From the article:
"To qualify for the list, a large number of scientists at any given time must have subscribed to the particular theory before it was eventually discarded. Thus a long list of pseudoscientific ideas, crackpot though they might be, didn’t make the list."
The List:

Here is a video that explains some of the issues with scientific publications.
Oh, and next time you wish to know something about water towers ( and apparently the misconceptions you held for many years ) I'll be sure not to waste my time enlightening you ( just as I have done so here ), because I suspect you won't believe me anyhow given your attitude here.
