The "official" stuff gets into the papers, where the really interesting stuff happens needs the experts in the same room.
On the one hand you say stop politicizing this, when that is exactly what it is, they're going to try and dream up less of an abortion than kyoto to follow on from the abortion that is kyoto protocol. So it's not 10 000 scientists getting together to brainstorm (which could be done via the net) it's 10 000 politically motivated parasites trying to ensure tha ...[text shortened]... ollection of ticks, fleas and tapeworms descending on Bali cannot claim the same.
As for what you see as parisitic behaviour should be considered compromise. It has been seent hat Kyoto hasn't had the take-up required to make it viable, and now, an attempt is being made at changing things to make them more acceptable to governments who should know better.
some light reading...

You mean they cut down trees and carry the paper on their business class flights, damn it just gets worse. Yes, at least you admit KP was a failure, I cry for the trees cut down for that mess, oh and the flights, the tons of fuel burnt up so one tapeworm can eyeball another tick.
Did any country come near their supposed goal of reductions, all that flying around really didn't help with the targets.

While otehr countries were slower than they could have been, Australia and Germany are doing very well. As for papers... they're generally online, and kept in electronic format. Those we need for our work are indeed printed, but don't worry, we recycle!
Papers?

So, quit it with feigned concern with the environment. Like I said, none of them are telling you not to fly planes, most just want airflight costs to reflect the actual costs. You're problem is with taxes, not with environmentalists.
