I fail to see how allowing people to keep the money they make isn't
good for making our economy grow, when they fear for it, they do not
spend it, when it isn't being spent or invested for that matter, the
economy isn't growing.

With respect to the topics you brought up, I asked for something
specific what have they done, those are cool things, and w ...[text shortened]... he money they spent, because they most certainly spent money, but
was it done wisely?

Failed Reagan/Bush economic theories are what got us into this mess in the first place. Taxpayers *are* still able to keep easily enough money to give them an incentive to work; the rich and corporations earn far more than they'd need to in order to have an incentive to work. There's A LOT of leeway there to tax them further if necessary to address the deficit and national debt.

It's low-to-middle income earners who need the support. The rich tend to save money rather than spend it, particularly so at a time of economic crisis. Lower income earners have less choice about whether they spend their money, because it's spent on more basic needs. It's all about the declining marginal utility of money.

These principles are good ones in general, but are of more acute importance during this time of economic crisis.

Most of that money is going to worthwhile domestic spending, whereas the AIG money is being wasted on these execs.
You get paid for working for a living, do you get bonus' for your
efforts? That money was spent on liberal agenda items, which
means in reality we have not one but two budgets this year, that bill
should have been directed at just those things that got to country
going forward, something to get the economy stimulated, instead
the tax burden they put on us is going to damage the American
dream for decades to come. The very fact that in that so called
stimulus bill AIG employees got bonuses should clue you in that
is just one thing we know about we find distasteful, what about
those things that do not make it to the light of day? Congress has
already shown they will say whatever they can to cover their
tracks until they are forced to own up to what they have done,
example Senator Dodd.

Those "liberal agenda items" are also important to stimulate the economy. They've always been a good idea, but they're even more important in this time of economic crisis.

It's important to note that of the 20 biggest pork barrel spending initiatives included in the budget that while 11 of them were from Democrats, an additional NINE of them were REPUBLICAN.

A little balance to some skewed perspectives...

Another reason why it isn't just a Democrat issue, it is Congress not
just a R or D issue. People need to stop worring about Republicans
or Democrats getting over and start worrying about the public getting
screwed, because there is a huge power grab taking place and I do
not see either party doing anything to stop it, they are basically
pushing this along in the name of fairness.

Forgive me, but if you want liberal agenda items to get passed, put
them in the normal budget, when the GOAL was to get the country
moving, than worry about just those things that deal directly with the
economy do not push the liberal wish list down everyone throats and
call it stimulus!
