It is a certainty in the future. Countries and cultures are far closer because of technology, the internet, smartphones and instant communication, than say 100 yrs ago. Imagine what the world will be like 100 yrs from mow. Many borders will come down.

The logic is simple. The US can benefit from more labour, both skilled and unskilled. Canada is begging people to move there to work and settle down. These two countries can take all of the Mexican population and even all of the Central American's. The initial impact is like hard to swallow medicine, but in the long run the entire North American continent will be very prosperous with almost no unemployment and almost nobody living under the poverty line.
