But wait.....I thought the libs here, who are always dead-on what should be right, profess that the government should have the power to tell us all what to do. Us All, by the way, includes the entities of small business ....like,, people...your mom and dad,,,the donut shop.
But the courts, they say the libs are wrong. So, does it follow that the conservatives on th ...[text shortened]... rum have won that argument as well as the many others? My gun grip has no more room for notches!!!

Dear Joe - Your oversimplification is showing. Federal, State, and Local Governments do have the power to tell us what to do, they're called laws. We have laws against murder, robbery, dumping our garbage in streams ...[text shortened]... blem with this? Would you prefer we start shooting our neighbor if his dog takes a dump in our lawn?
How is it that ALL CHILDREN
MUST HAVE VACCINES for;
Polio, Chickenpox, Measles,
Mumps and Rubella.........
IT'S THE LAW IN ALL STATES~!
@Metal-Brain
I have a don't give a crap about YOUR links. You find ultrarightwing sites and post them as if they are true and honest.
Nothing could be the furthest from the truth with those sites. They have agenda's to tout and that is their MO.
@jimm619
Well sure, those antivaxers have FREEDOM. Didn't you know?
BTW, just curious, when did you escape Vietnam? My official AF years were ALL in the US, got overseas jobs later like in Thailand where I lived for 2 years. Did 4 years in Jerusalem working as a Varian rep in Intel there.
Also did a couple years working at AUTEC, Andros Island in the Bahamas.
Talk about a sweet job🙂 Autec stands for Atlantic Underwater Test Center and is there because of an 8000 feet underwater canyon about 100 miles by 30 miles and they have it all plastered with microphones, I'll explain it if you want, it is complicated.
Anyway, it does say something about the IQ of the anti vaxxers eh.
@metal-brain saidThanks, MB. Everyone off-issue right out off the gate. I made the thread to point out that of the many posts that have ensued over the months, the liberal slant was that the govt should have the power to issue the mandates. A court ruled otherwise last week, ,so we are just pounding our chests a bit.
This thread is about mandates, not trump.
Stop polluting this thread with trump crap.
That is the fact,, the issue, not really arguable as to the ruling of the court. It says, simply, that the liberal point of view was faulty.
@shavixmir saidSee my post to MB. What is moronic about my posting a fact? Get a grip, Shav, we need all the level heads we can get here!

@AverageJoe1
Funny how you continue to project the idea that states rights trump fed rights.
It turns out when push comes to shove the CONSTITUTION, remember THAT little tid bit of prose?, says there are state rights but Feds can pass laws forcing states to abide by whatever they are pushing at the fed level.
Out of all the mandates, you rightwingnuts ONLY single out covid vax.
You have to wear seatbelts, do you spout FREEDOM when you go down the road refusing to wear SB?
Children are MANDATED to get shots before they enter school. So why is it ok for them to get say a flu shot V a covid shot?
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE in them getting either shots, a bit of minor pain when the needle goes in and THAT IS THAT.
So why has Covid vax been WEAPONIZED?
My guess is they want it that way, the rightwingers, just to give the finger to Biden.
Of course it is our CHILDREN paying the piper so now they weaponized even wearing of masks and ASSSWIPES like Tucker Carlsen pukes out all his stupid anti American screes and screaming forcing children to wear masks is child abuse.
THAT IS BULLSHYTE.
My own granddaughter wears mask when she goes out, age 6.
She PREFERS to wear the mask in crowded settings like a mall or cafe.
So a little 6 year old has more sense than the tens of millions of anti vaxers.
Go figure.

Every now and then I get a 'smell' that brings me back, do you?

What I noticed right away about Thailand, a small cloud would go by, it would stop for a few minutes and a huge faucet opens up and you have about 5 minutes of intense rain. Then the faucet closes and the cloud moves on.
You can actually see the whole thing proceed if you know what is about to happen.
I also had great fun there on Mango Day.
My telok, Thai gf, says LAO LAO, Mango day.
??
So it turns out they have these massive mango trees and when they know they are ripe it is MANGO day, which means the boyfriend climbs the dam tree, picks and drops about 90 pounds of mangos which the girls then turn into a dozen dishes, mango shrimp, whatever, mango orange juice, mango mash 🙂
Then there was the candle parade.
So I am minding my own business in NKP and I see these guys working over a candle made of wax but about 7 feet tall and decorated with wax figures all around the candle.
It seems once a year there is this candle making contest where all the folks in town get together to make the BEST dam candle possible🙂
So me being over 6 foot, the Thai dudes asked me if I could ride in the pickup that takes the candle through town in their parade of candles to keep it from tipping over.
So I go sure, but what I didn't know was the little pickup trucks also was decorated with cut up foam sheets painted with garish neon colors but the big surprise was the appearance of about 8 very beautiful Thai girls all dressed in their best finery, were also going on that truck.
So here I was on the candle truck with these Thai beauties and we drive into town.
So we passed the houch of one of my co workers, a dude who was about 6 foot 8, huge dude, and he had camera out concentrating on getting pictures of the ladies.
So as we passed by, I thrust myself through the girls and go HI🙂
He like falls back about ten feet, like TOTAL surprise. I got him GOOD🙂
It was worth all of that for that moment🙂

I've experienced similar type rainstorms is in the New Orleans area.

@averagejoe1 saidMany courts ruled that Trumps big steal lie was just that, a lie, but that doesn’t stop the Republican scum from claiming that it’s the truth.
Thanks, MB. Everyone off-issue right out off the gate. That is the fact,, the issue, not really arguable as to the ruling of the court. It says, simply, that the liberal point of view was faulty.
If the vaccine mandates are unconstitutional in the eyes of that court then they are perfectly entitled to make that ruling that’s what they are there for. I expect the White House will fight the decision and that’s their job.
None of that makes mandates right or wrong the arguments for and against will always be disputed.
@jimm619
Yeah, working as civilian is certainly looser. We had kids not looking more than 16 working with us.
One dude, looked like a 15 yo, Larry Corinco, went to Thailand on this job because he was an extreme addict, heroin, and knew he could get all he wanted.
So one day, stoned out of his gourd, we are in the comm room with lots of microwave electronics and such, all working perfectly.
Till Larry shows up.
Stoned like I said, he grabbed one of the microwave klystron amplifier drawer, a THOUSAND watt klystron.
So what is hooked up to said klystron was flexible waveguides. So when this idiot pulled out the drawer, he didn't bother to turn off the amp, just pulled the whole thing out with a lot of smoke and burned out electronics.
So there would have been no search and rescue that day unless I fixed it.
I was the only one competent enough for that job.
So I found out I could patch the 100 MILLI watt preamp to the output to antenna's and the search and rescue folks still got communications, although a bit noisier than when we had a thousand watt job running it.
So they sent in a replacement klystron but it was not the right one and it would have taken a week or more to get the right one, so I took over that job and figured out how to shoehorn it into place and after 14 solid hours of work, the comm was back in business, no thanks to Larry, I now call it the "Corinco effect'..
The weird part was, they didn't fire him.
He comes back to work the next day as if nothing happened.
But a week later, the van comes to pick him up to go to work and he is so stoned he goes, I am really stoned, I can't get up out of my chair.
THAT got him fired finally, he was out of the country a couple hours later.
@sonhouse saidLess than 100 employees, cafe's, restaurants, massage parlors, brothels, nightclubs, etc, etc, high public contacts, Hmm, yep, makes sense to me, not. 1st, the whole mandate thing is stupid to me, well mostly, but this policy highlights that stupidity.
@Metal-Brain
Nothing makes sense to you because you are STUPID.
If there are less than 100 employees, there will be less of a chance of random infections.
If there were a THOUSAND employees, you can see where now it is a large crowd and like in the meat packing plants are working within a couple of FEET of each other, a recipe for disaster that has already played out, bu ...[text shortened]... g plant issues since you would never hear the true story on your Newsmax and Tucker Carlsen channel.
You are so determined to name Metal-Brain stupid you deem everything he says stupid without thinking.
This policy is stupid.
@jimmac
Well the science says masks lower the infection rate passed on to people and BTW, 1 hundred years ago, the same thing happened and guess what, they mandated masks then too. There was no massive anti American movement back in those times however.
By Americans, I mean.
And also BTW, Europe is gearing up for a new wave crashing through there and they warned us here in the US that it is not over by a long shot and it may get worse again here in the US, a fourth and fifth surge is coming and those in the south have their FREEDOM so clearly they will be hit the hardest.
What is going on in their minds has nothing to do with health measures.
They are ALL anti Vaxxers because Trump said so.
Now he says get the vax but too late, he has poo poo'd vaxing for the whole last year of his so-called presidency.
The ONLY thing going on in their heads is the fact they are in the cult, drank the coolaid and believe every word coming out of Trumps mouth.
So THAT is the entire reason for refusing to mask.
It is a weaponization of politics bringing this about.
And it is killing people.
