@averagejoe1 saidNo, my response was more, "I can't believe you're that stupid."
Hit a nerve, did I? I am not sure about your politics, are you a dependent on government (thus give away fish) or you more of a self-reliant sort, and encourage people to take care of themselves?
Another tough question,, but I did not start this thread which could lead to a lot of traps for liberals!!!!
@sonhouse saidWatch out, you'll be labeled "WOKE".
@KellyJay
I thought you were a Christian, didn't Jesus say to help the poor? People saying they were lazy and such is just avoiding the real problems going on, like do you think they are homeless because they are lazy?
Anything to not feel bad after they act like an a-hole.
Who needs a conscience anyways, right?

@moonbus said"Houston has voted Democratic for the more than a decade and is liberal leaning. Currently, the majority of Houston elected officials are Democrats, and the city’s mayors have been Democrats for over 20 years. The city has become the most ethnically diverse city in the United States with immigrants from all over the world, adding a unique dimension to the city's politics.["
In Houston, it’s a crime for private people or private organizations to give food to homeless people in public.

I think the law is asinine. But hardly surprising for Texas.

@kellyjay saidCome on.
You think that there are people who are incapable such acts in one degree or another?
My major in college was psychology. I'm well aware that there are damaged people doing highly damaging things. But most people act with a conscience. It's the damaged criminals who do actually damaging criminal things. And we shouldn't be electing these people. But calling beneficial things "criminal" (WOKE-ism) is just stupid and damaging to society. Like feeding the homeless. I'm sorry, but you can't even BEGIN to argue that should be a crime.
@averagejoe1 saidAre you kidding? ALL of your threads boil down to money.
Has a thread on money ever been done yet?

Get a clue. As I said, it's Texas.
@suzianne saidShav thinks the Bible is a fairy tale. I thought you were friends

@averagejoe1 saidShav can think for himself.
Shav thinks the Bible is a fairy tale. I thought you were friends
I'm not so sure you can.

@suzianne saidI have not ever used the word “Woke “ to describe anyone. My point to you is we are all damaged and quite capable of doing horrible things to one another, that means right, left, pick your color or sex there isn’t a class or segment of humanity that is not capable of being bad. So suggesting particular groups alone are responsible for any mess we find or are in is counter productive. That breed contempt and hate.
Come on.

@mott-the-hoople saidRegardless which party enacted the law, what do you actually think about criminalizing charity ?
first line...
""Houston has voted Democratic for the more than a decade and is liberal leaning."

@mott-the-hoople saidNeither the thread title nor the opening post mentioned anything to do with political parties. Do you have an opinion on criminalizing charity, regardless which party (including independents) enacts such legislation?
oh, you dont want to hear about a liberal poster posting an article that they thought would put conservatives in a bax light, only to find out it was liberals doing it?

@moonbus saidUnderstand, wherever in the US the people most identify with being Christian, those are precisely the places where the most un-Christian-like policies and attitudes will prevail. Call it hypocrisy, doublethink, cognitive dissonance, or Satanism in sheep's clothing, but that's just the way it is. These days "Trumpism" seems to be the most apt descriptor.
