Sorry, no. You gotta treat them properly. Most people who actually perpetrate these crimes are, how shall we say, mentally deficient. Not something I'd have someone killed for, although Zeeb seems to think it's sufficient reason.
Mental deficiency is merely an excuse for murderers to get them a lesser sentence. I'm sure a few of them probably are, but I refuse to accept that the majority are like that. Anyway, it's beside the point, if they murder someone, they don't deserve their right to live, no matter what their motives or mental conditions were. Period.

I'm sick and tired of all this nonsense about the sanctity of human life. If a murderous sick twisted jerkoff has done nothing but kill and maim others, then enough is enough, just make the world a better place and put them to sleep. Don't tell me you can rehabilitate them. Even if you could, SO WHAT?

Actually, there are many psychological studies where they've shown physiological differences between the brains of people that commit violent crimes and those which don't. They simply don't have the mental architecture in place to control themselves in alot of cases. Likewise, there is a whole can of worms about the societal influences on human behaviour. For example, people from poorer backgrounds are more likely to be both victims and perpetrators of violent crime than people from higher socio-economic groups.

Go on POO, kill people for being just the way god made em. HE'd be so proud of you.

Having spent a little bit of time in forensic psych I thought I should chime in here 🙂

I don't know about everywhere but here in Australia if someone is sane enough (or inteligent enough) to know the difference between right and wrong, they get charged with whatever they did. Convincing a Dr and at least half a dozen nurses that you actually had/have a mental issue bad enough that you didn't know right from wrong at the time of the crime is no easy thing.

I know some of the people I looked after were as mad as cut snakes but they knew what they did was wrong, and therefore went through the courts like every other murderer or child rapist or whatever.

I think it's all well and good to want the death penalty but actually watching someone die, up close, is not something you ever really forget, however I can understand how victims or their families would want it.
