If a Jan. 6th protester went into that Capitol building and pulled a fire alarm what do you all think he would be charged with? What was his excuse for playing with the fire alarm he is so familiar with when he was a teacher and principal in school? Is he going to say he was just dusting it off and oops? If a student in high school did that what would he tell that student? KEEP YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF OF THE FIRE ALARM! That is what he would say, right?
I say he should get 20 years in prison like the Proud Boys leader who was not even at the Capitol Building. They were both delaying official proceedings of the democratic process.
Edit: Oh, it just keeps getting better.
In a Saturday statement, Bowman said "I want to personally clear up confusion surrounding today's events," adding "Today, as I was rushing to make a vote, I came to a door that is usually open." (it's not)
"I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door."

AOC is defending that absurd excuse. Is he blind?
@no1marauder saidWe all know full well that your response would be different if the alarm puller were a republican congressman.
It's a misdemeanor with a maximum punishment of six months.
No, I don't prejudge what a sentence should be that's for a judge to decide IF and when he is found guilty. We are not the party of knee jerk reactions based on little knowledge of the circumstances; that's for right wing jerks like yourself.
That being said, it's unlikely a defendant with no prior record would get any jail time assuming he pled guilty to that charge.
Your creds are still slipping.
@mott-the-hoople saidGood point. Typical liberal conflict. Not a straight comment in the bunch.
"No, I don't prejudge what a sentence should be that's for a judge to decide IF and when he is found guilty"
I guess we are supposed to ignore your position on menendez...LOL
@no1marauder saidHere, Marauder parses his own comments!!!!!!!!!!
Did I give an opinion on what his sentence should be assuming he was convicted of the charges against him?
No, I didn't. Same as here.
@metal-brain saidExcuse me.....he said the door is usually open!!?!!???

Jesus. He is a liberal, however
@averagejoe1 saidDoes a fire alarm even look like a door opener? And I thought to open a door you push a button and you pull out a lever on a fire alarm. At least that is how they were when I was in school. Have fire alarms changed since then?

@metal-brain saidWHY!?!? WHY will this person go unscathed? What has happened to common societal rules? Why are some people treated differently than others?

@averagejoe1 saidTurns out he did more than pull a fire alarm, he also tore down signs to doors on another floor that said "Emergency use only".

@metal-brain saidDoes this all mean we can holler ‘Fire’ in a crowded theater now!??

@averagejoe1 saidWell if he deserves 6months in an orange jump suit, how many multiples of that should the orange man get in a suit, as a result of his fraudulent activities and traitorous Jan6 insurrection attempt?
He'd been a school principal, knows fire alarms. 6-months in jail, obviously a nefarious act to stop a vote. No lib here will say he should go to jail. Why won't they say that? That is the real issue of this thread. We are conversing with disingenuous wimps.
If they say he should be jailed in an orange jump suit, it will open up their liberal other positions to scrutiny, as they will be conflicted. It is this type of a schism which brings out all that emotion.
@kmax87 saidTrump did not tell protesters to enter the Capitol Building. That was Ray Epps.

Why no seditious conspiracy charges for Epps?
Nobody believes anybody can confuse a door opener with a fire alarm. You pull a fire alarm and you push a button to open a door. And the guy wears glasses. Anybody who can see properly can see it is a fire alarm.
@kmax87 saidIf Trump were convicted, as you suggest, he would be in an orange jump suit. I guess that answers your question.

You seem to be comparing him to the person that pulled a fire alarm when there was no fire, breaking a law on camera? Videoed law breaking? I am not getting your point.
@AverageJoe1
I guess he knew he was pulling the fire alarm and did it because he was late and wanted to make sure he got to vote. He was being egocentric.

@metal-brain saidThat would be like a guy saying that a dangerous device is on an aircraft, which results in all 400 passengers being deplaned, causing great inconvenience, some not remedial.

That is what this man has done. He (said) that there was a fire threat, and all of the congressman left the building (deplaned).
The alarm-puller should DEFINITELY be expelled, and I don't know what else. Does anyone think for a minute that the airplane culprit would be allowed to fly on ANY airline again?????? No. So how should he be a congressman again?
There are people on this Forum who will not be able to understand this perfect comparison.
PS<PS: MB, 'Why' he did it is quite irrelevant.
