Yes, but people would get less construction done.

Originally posted by wibThe real question to ask is how many politicians throughout the world, especially in the US, have shares in oil companies and thus have posted thier largest profits ever ? This will tell you the true reason for the rise in oil prices. The people who set the price (the oil cartels and governments) all have a vested interest in a higher price. Just remember that Saudi Arabia is the biggest contributer to US election campains. And we all know about the Iraq War.
Anyone care to try and defend these greedy b@stards?
Largest Quarterly Profit Ever. How bout them apples?

Go across the street and give the exact same amount of my money to Texaco, or BP? They may as well all be the same company anyway. They all get their product from the same place.
No need to defend them, but I do support them when I gas up my car.
No-one owes you a cup of gasoline, if they're making too much profit (in your opinion) buy your gasoline from a less successful company. ;^)
Either way, we're screwed. By not choosing Exxon/Mobile I'm simply choosing a different poison.
Originally posted by wibThere are cheaper companies to some extent. They may differ only by pennies, but they are there. You can also start driving cars that use less gas and avoiding driving. If people had a problem with gas prices they'd stop buying hummers and start driving Metros and taking the bus.

Originally posted by AThousandYoungIn the original post wib was having issues with the profit being made, so he needs to seek out a company whos gas may be more expensive but that's ok as long as the company is making less profit.
